  1. OMGosh killin me!! Now me and mom will have to come down and check out Elmer!! So dang cute! Still working towards that discus tank...too bad my 150 nano keeps...being Nano!! Thanks Brandon, for such great pics an info!! Michelle
  2. My tank, 150 tall, loves Anubius because...low light. I actually have 6 lights in/on the tank, but it is 3 feet tall. I was in the co-op last weekend, and I was asking Brandon about the easy planters and Anubius. Like, could Anubius be happy in the rockwool, in the easy planter (I have several). They suggested taking the rockwool out and having the Anubius tied to a course sponge in the easy planter. So, this weekend, I used "barbie bondage strap" (small zip tie) strapped to Anubius roots and course sponge, and pushed into easy planter. PERFECT!! I'm sure the plant will be so happy. Thank you so much Brandon. I am so happy we got to chat last weekend and appreciate all of your and Jaden's advice so much!! Michelle aka Mastifflvr28
  3. LOL...yeah, Seattle traffic. We were going North so more like Everett traffic, sheesh 🙂 M
  4. I got 10 more neon green tetras to go with my 20. 3 more Otos to go with my 1. A really cute Mayaca Fluviatilis, I had never noticed this plant before. My mom got 10 more neon greens to go with hers, a clown pleco and a yoyo loach! And a bunch of food, of course. We listened to the shrimp king live stream on the way down. Funny thing, I had just made a 90$ plant purchase on the website the night before, lol. We just hadn't been down for a couple of weeks so we were having withdrawls 🙂 Twas a great day! Mast
  5. The appropriate way to transport fish from the Co-op to home! Mastifflvr28
  6. Yes Patrick, there is that 🙂 Plus supporting such a great biz makes me happy!! Michelle
  7. HA CT...I spent more then 100...TWICE this week, lol. It's just so hard not to!! The meeting was AWESOME!! Corey, Dean, Zenzo, Jimmy, AND Candi!
  8. My mom, Diane, and I will be there. Is there something we need to do to prove our membership? We visited Robert at the coop on Wed to drop off fish and buy more fish 🙂 Looking forward to this meet!! Michelle
  9. Mine was not very interested in the hammock so I got an Anubias Barteri which is really broad leaves. He loves that plant, swims in and out of the leaves and sleeps on them as well. He liked the Betta log too, but they sink...both of them. So I use them for caves in my other tank. Not sure why they keep sinking...ah well 🙂 Michelle
  10. Sounds so familiar. We went last weekend and I didn't NEED anymore fish...everyone is so happy and content in my tanks. But there was this Panda Garra that was just so full of character...and he does not disappoint. Fun to watch, fits right in. Now, really, I don't NEED anymore fish...until next time. Michelle
  11. I don't think the mystery snails is really poor quality. It's been on my coffee cup for months, and that thing gets rinsed in hot water daily. All the stickers are holding up well... I bought the mystery snail in the store. I don't know which shipment this is, probly 237, but I just received the Odessa barb! Nice
  12. Got mine within 24 hours of ordering...got them faster then if I would have driven down there. Course had to fill my cart for free shipping too, lol. Love the product, thanks! Michelle
  13. I have seen this dream of superior customer service in person. Those guys work so hard on the weekends!! And they are compensated for it, It is truly a breath of fresh air, and mission accomplished. Great company, great boss. I consider this my LFS even tho it is 2 hours away, well worth it. Actually I think I pay one of their wages per month...or maybe the light bill 🙂 Michelle
  14. Yeah, mine are live birth. They also eat out of my hands...like repashy since it sinks so fast. They do jet around the tank but they aren't startled by me, usually it's the female running from the male. Reminds me of guppies. I haven't seen either of them run into the side of the tank.
  15. I have 2 in my 36 bowfront community tank. I got them from the co-op about a year ago. They are really cool fish!! They are called Silver Halfbeaks, about 2 inches long. STRICTLY top dwellers. They had fry a couple of times. I managed to rescue ONE from the 2 separate batches (of about 4 to 6) they had. His name is Hans Solo. I don't know if they ate the fry or the honey gourmies or guppies did. They are GREAT community fish, they pretty much ignore all the other fish except themselves. The male seems to harass the female a bit, but she finds hiding spots in the plants. Michelle
  16. My beloved travel coffee cup that NEVER leaves my side. I also run VERY hot water over it daily and these stickers have held up for months!! So they probly will restore your powers 🙂 Michelle
  17. I have all 3 scenarios. The 36 bowfront has a male and female pair that spawn regularly. The female is dominant. They get along great, he stays on the right side of the tank and builds nests, she chases the rest of the tank (guppies, halfbeaks). When he is guarding eggs he tries to chase the female but she does not run. My 150 has 2 males, the dominant male stays on the left side of the tank with the one patch of water sprite that gets pushed to that side because of the flow. We call him the grumpy old man because whenever any of the other fish frolic in his sprite he gives chase. "Stay off my lawn!" The less dominant male stays either in the middle or on the right hand side. The two spend the mornings swimming together and having sword fights and "touching" other fish and shrimp with their "Doll Hands" as we call them. They are almost our most entertaining fish. I just recently added a 6 month old unknown gender fry into the tank. They spent about 2 days chasing this kid around but now they all get along fine, He stays right around the middle. Oh, also, the less dominant male was near white in color until I added the new kid...now he's all gold and purty! I sent one of my males (since I had 4 males and 1 female) to my mom's house. He is housed alone in a community tank. He and the Bolivian ram hang out together. She says he is not shy and routinely "touches" the ram on the head as he passes by. None of my honeys are either shy or aggressive, except for the 1 female, she keeps everyone in line 🙂 Michelle
  18. I've noticed that too Hobbit, mine I've had for about a year now too...which probably means they are close to 2 yrs old because they take so dang long to get big! But mine have slowed down on the bubble nests too. They make one probably about once a month now instead of once every week. I plan on letting nature takes it's course and not save a nest to raise until I sell this batch of 30 I already have. These babies are about nickel size and 5 months old. So slow! Bur really fun 🙂
  19. Really very entertaining fish to watch!! Sword fights and all, even when defending a nest! My male and female almost dance with each other. The male tries to chase the female away but she has none of it! None of the eggs and swimmers have ever survived my community tank, even heavily planted. The half beaks are probably the culprits since they stay near the surface and they do get chased the most, as well as the guppies...but none of them care. Now the mystery snail, THAT'S funny. He'll be sleeping up in the corner by the nest and you can just see smoke coming out of that honey's ears! If he had any 🙂 Good luck with the flow! Michelle
  20. When I first set up my 36 bow front a year or so ago I got 3 honey's from the coop...they were supposed to be 1 male and 2 females. Turned out to be 1 female and 2 males. They all got along pretty good, some short distance quick chasing once in a while. I had them in with a few guppies, neocardinias, 2 half beaks, cory's, and some snails. I went back to the coop a couple months later (que curbside delivery thanks to covid) and got 2 more honeys that were supposed to be female. Those turned out to be male as well. Only reason I know this is because all 4 males had the black throat and none of them were aggressive accept for the female and she just ruled the roost. All the guppies got out of her way as did the half beaks. The female and one male chose each other...the other 3 males took a corner of the tank and hid. So I gave 1 male to my mom (he now lives in harmony with a ram) and put the other 2 males in another 20 long with the furcatas and hillstream loaches. They got along fine, small amounts of short distance chasing but mostly stayed on each side of the tank. The female and male I left in the 36 gallon have spawned several times...there is a bubble nest about once every 2 weeks. I now am the proud mom of about 30 nickel size honey babies (they grow SO slow). So healthy mainly because of aquarium coop baby brine shrimp, lol. I had to take those out when they were JUST a bubble nest. None of the eggs or wigglers have ever survived the community tank...either one of the other fish eat em, or dad does about 4 days in. Which is fine, I don't have room or the buyers to raise 30 honey fry every 2 weeks 🙂 The male does chase the female away from the nest for a few days but she doesn't run far, she doesn't back down. Moral of the story...I have none. The honey Gourami are one of the most interesting and fun fish that I have to watch. We call them doll hands, they are constantly touching everything in the tank...other fish...and each other. The 2 males that are in the other tank have sword fights every once in a while but that is as far as their aggression goes. I have no experience with other Gouramis so I could not compare them. But these guys seem like a nice community fish...but I wonder if yours have a dominant personality, like an individual betta has. Maybe one needs to be rehomed for it's safety?
  21. Almost finished setting up my new (used) 150 high and condensed 4 tanks into one. So today I shall clean out all the tanks and gift one of my 20 longs to my daughter in law along with a couple of Honey Fry and a couple of male guppies and maybe some shrimp. Will move the pea puffers and dwarf gobies out of their 10 into the other 20L which will leave me with 2 empty 10's. But first...I'm taking a nap 🙂 Michelle
  22. Some I've bought, some I received with orders. These are only half of what I've got, I just haven't "stuck" the others anywhere yet. Love them all!!
  23. Taste the Rainbow! Love my piles and piles of shrimps. I have some running around that are almost clear. They are all cool to watch, no matter what color.
  24. Answered my question too! I have a very unprofessional not for profit blue dream shrimp tank and got a batch of striped brown babies. Super cute but was wondering why, now I know! thanks, Michelle
