  1. The water height is 50 cm and the radius is 25 cm so I believe it is in the range of 15 - 20 Gallon
  2. It is called 'Spider Plant' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorophytum_comosum On the top I have suspended a plastic mesh into the plastic walls of this huge plant pot and then on top of the mesh I added the terrestrial plants (Spider plant, Syngonium plant and Lucky bamboo) and added the rocks, there is a water pump as well suspended just below the rocks to bring water up in a waterfall effect but it doesn't appear in the photos It worth mentioning that these 3 terrestrial plants can live directly in water (not all terrestrial plants can do this) and of course they feed on the fish waste and other nutrients in the water, actually the Syngonium plant is creating more and more leaves every day and the Lucky Bamboo is doing great, but the Spider plant still didn't create new leaves
  3. HYG, yesterday I didn't have access to my computer so after Zenzo asked my to update the post I updated it but had to wait until I can upload the photos today What do you think of my pond?
  4. Hi @Zenzo Sure and sorry about that, I forgot about this rule, I am replying from my mobile so once I return home and have access to my computer I will update my post
  5. The guppies pond is an idea that I had for months and I finally constructed it, the guppies in the pond are assorted fancy guppies and they seem very happy with their new home, I am also expecting new fries soon in this new guppies habitat I am using several top terrestrial plants that can have their roots directly in the water, while using several water plants t the water bottom as well but I believe most of the nitrate will be consumed by the terrestrial plants, in general it is healthy to use many plants in your pond or aquarium which works as a natural filter to reduce or even completely get rid of nitrate and any harmful chemicals which are used by the plants as natural fertilizers
  6. Thanks, will check Cory's video To answer your questions, my tank is 80 x 40 x 40 cm and I was thinking of using LED bulbs, whatever socket available, probably I will have access to all the needed components For the plants, I was thinking of low maintenance plants but probably will need 1 or 2 medium maintenance which would have orange or red colors as I don't want everything to be just green inside the tank
  7. Hi Everyone, I need to have a good light for my 35 gallon tank while all the available lights in my country are using white LEDs, so I am going to a DIY light and was wondering which LEDs should I use, should I go for White + Warm (Yellow) + Blue or White + Red + Blue + Green or should I use some other combination? Thanks
  8. I am a member now hooray 😃 To my surprise while checking some old videos the join button appeared and I was able to susbcribe, I think I am the first member from Egypt @Cory
  9. @Eddie Dingle Hello, I am looking forward to be a very active member of this community and I really like Cory's videos on Youtube, actually I started to be addicted and now I am watching all the old videos (or most of them) as well 😂 There is a huge community in Egypt of fish hobbyists but unfortunately there are no professional shops like what you have in the US or Europe, this was the main reason that I started following a few western channels like Aquarium Co-Op and Green Aqua, our main problem in Egypt is in importing fish food, tanks devices/gadgets ... etc. most of what we have in Egypt is imported from China and a good portion of it is of low quality, and when you find a branded item it will probably require a lot of money to purchase, well this is the negative part but there is also a very positive part related to the hobbyists themselves, we have a lot of people who breed a lot of fish and grow a lot of plants and usually you can purchase what you need from a fellow hobbyist, and HYG some more info regarding this part: There are a lot of Egyptian Youtube channels, I myself maintain a website www.egypt-aquarium.com where I put links for most of the Arabic videos on a daily basis There are a lot of Whatsapp and Telegram groups where people can connect directly with each other And of course most of the people have Facebook pages or groups where they can connect as well And the fish/plants are relatively cheap compared to the US, HYG some prices: A couple of livebearers starting from 0.5 USD African Cichlids starting from 6 USD each Tetras in the range of 3 - 5 USD each Gold fish would be in the range of 1 - 2 USD Angels probably in the same range as gold fish The most expensive plants would be in the range of 10 - 15 USD So as you can see our prices are probably much less than the US, but you have much better options related to the tanks, air pumps and filters, as well as better quality food and the different chemicals used in the water
  10. Thank you all 😃 It is really a great community and you were all very helpful
