I'm going to use a nano filter for the first time. Trying to decide which is better, a internal Fluval U2 or a HOB from Penn Plax, Cascade 20 or the Aqueon Quiet Pro 20 [reviews say very noisy]

I saw Cory's modification of this desktop aquarium's filtration system. I was just wondering if instead of doing the modification from YouTube, could you just use a HOB to make the filtration work.
