I like your setup with this. What is the fine you are using? Aquarium coop fine stuff?

So u use the course sponge in the back only? This is what I came up with. Not sure if the course is thick enough

Yeah I cut the course sponge to fit in filter and then got the thickness in half and used with the white fine pad. I hope it works I hate the refill cartridge. I'm afraid when I cut the black sponge in half it will not filter enough of the large out.

Looking to use the aquarium coop course black media and the white fine poly in my aqueon hangon filter. I cannot fit both in there so I was thinking on cutting the thickness of the Black course down or should I just use the fine white one only. Just not sure how to put these in. Any suggestions I would appreciate it

I turned it way down but no matter what I do I still get little air bubbles. The air stone line is very small and straight. I also cant tell if it pulling in anything. How do I tell if the sponge is working correctly? I'm still running the hob since I'm not sure if I set this sponge up right. I turned the flow way down so only a little bit is coming past filter. If I turn it down until zero bubbles come from filter there is zero flow output.

Thank you. Current setup the line is very short between the airstone and filter. I never ran a sponge so I'm worried I'll mess something up. I have watched the you tube filters over and over. Lol ocd is setting in

Thanks I have both running now. Can anyone tell me if this sponge filter is set up right? Seems a little much coming out and might need to throttle it back. Its aquarium coop sponge and the never click airstone hooked to tetra whisper 10-20 gal airpump. Currently no valve inline.

I have several zebra danio in 10 gallon tank. I'm not sure of I should use my spong filter or hang on filter for these guys. Hang on moves a good bit of water. Any help is appreciated
