  1. Thanks akconklin! Give it a try, you never know what you can come up with.
  2. I made the background in this tank using closed cell foam, pond spray foam and spray paint.
  3. I use a shop vac that I specifically for aquarium stuff. I just vacuum the very top carefully to not suck up fish and fry
  4. I love the sis’s egg tumblers. They are my go to for African Cichlids eggs
  5. I have done saltwater for many years on a central sump. When I started doing more freshwater, I tried the central sump route and actually found it to be less efficient than doing auto water change with a drain. I did a lot of live bearers so you have to find something to cover the drain and not let fry through. I never found something that wouldn't clog constantly or let fry into the sump. Maybe you will have better luck.
  6. I am in Michigan and have done quite a few places. I have done Salt City Cichlids, Dan's Fish, Live Aquaria for Saltwater, and Aquabid. I also buy a lot from local club auctions around my area. If you are close enough, check out the Chicago area for the fish clubs and swaps.
  7. This is one product that no one has been able crack. I think this diy version is pretty cool. There have been others to try and solve this, but this is the best one I have come across in awhile. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/diy-auto-frozen-food-feeder.753039/#post-7893236
  8. I haven't played with the Cobalt. I am huge fine of the ziss tumbler. I despise the amazon one. The suction cups don't work well and generally thought it was poorly constructed.
