  1. Had a small problem last Friday. I came out to the barn and it’s was dark and breakers tripped. One to find out that my heater died. I live in Michigan and it’s quite cold right now. Fortunately I had an additional heater at the ready. Just needed some wiring and we were good to go. Word to the wise, always keep backups, whether heaters, pumps. Makes your life easier and might even save your fish.
  2. Honestly I would spend the money on the Neptune Auto Top Off. It is spendy, but has optical and a third manual float for saftey. The pump it comes with is super powerful. It tops off a sump on the second floor of my barn. You don't need the apex to run it. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/atk-v2-auto-top-off-kit-neptune-systems.html?dfw_tracker=43788-212317&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Shopping>Neptune>Brand+(MAP)&utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=ppc&hsa_acc=7373341438&hsa_cam=870139873&hsa_grp=42661203326&hsa_ad=204146470016&hsa_src=g&hsa_tgt=pla-311117954630&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gclid=Cj0KCQiAmfmABhCHARIsACwPRAA9BS15hQIMc-k36PJ5lREbddr-edVuhhzY-CgadLdZmNcGLf4TXIkaAkRFEALw_wcB

  6. Cory needs a magic wall in the new studio
  7. I would agree. They do make some hang in the refugiums as well.
  8. James, Here are my thoughts, I have done saltwater for a lot years. - Your stocking list is quite heavy for saltwater, remember they need a lot more space than FW - I would do either the clowns or the bangaii, the clowns are hardier. Don't do damsels they can be quite aggressive. - Dottybacks are hyper aggressive so you could do them but no other fish in the tank. - The shrimp would be fine .... just research your fish and the species of shrimp and fish and make sure they go together. Also, what are you doing for filtration, skimmer, etc. on this system.
  9. Ok Randy, let me know when you are ready and I will get you in touch with him
  10. Matt Pedersen editor of Amazonas magazine, accomplished breeder of both salt and freshwater fish. First person to breed the orange spot filefish. I can get you in contract if need be.
  11. Thanks akconklin! Give it a try, you never know what you can come up with.
  12. I made the background in this tank using closed cell foam, pond spray foam and spray paint.
