  1. I don't know what it is, but when I got mine it started out exactly the same. I just left it in the tank and when roots and leaves started to sprout it all went away. Hopefully, yours does the same.
  2. How far away is the nearest faucet and drain? I use a water pump to siphon out water rather than just the python itself.
  3. Mine sends out lily pads pretty often. I do have to trim a few every so often when the leaf seems a bit unhealthy. If yours is looking healthy I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe it just needs some more time. I use root tabs for the lily as well. I feel like it helps.
  4. That is a super impressive anubias!!! I hope to see that kind of size out of my slow growers one day.
  5. I'm hoping you end up with some surprise fry. That would be pretty cool!
  6. I don't know how to sex pencilfish, but it looks like they are trying to breed rather than spar. I'm not a master breeder, it was just my initial thought. Are they both males? Cool footage no matter the reasoning though.
  7. Beautiful looking planted tank! Amazing how the plants filled in so well.
  8. That is a beautiful setup by the window. It looks like a very realistic slice of nature. I feel like I could see something like that walking outdoors somewhere.
  9. I use fluval stratum and in my experience I have never registered any ammonia spikes at all. Also, my water chemistry never changes in the tanks I use it in. I have very hard, alkaline water though, and I have read it is difficult to drop pH in water like that unless you run it through an RO system. There could be possible swings in different water parameters. Hopefully, someone with different water will chime in soon.
  10. That is some serious dedication. I wish you luck!
  11. Free is a pretty good deal! Lol. Good luck with him. Hope he does well for you.
  12. Nicely done! Way to think outside the box. :)
  13. I agree. I keep a bunch of males together and they seem perfectly fine.
  14. Nerites are also found in brackish water, so I don't think carbonate hardness should be a problem for them. That's my thought at least. It's so interesting how a hardy, easy fish/invertebrate for one person, can be extremely difficult for another.
  15. Excellent collection of snails! How do you like keeping the rabbits? Do they leave your plants alone for the most part?
  16. Good idea! No way they'd turn down live baby brine.
  17. Tanks are always a work in progress. Lol. 😛 If they ever do feel finished, I find most people want to change it up. Welcome to the forum!
  18. Welcome back to fish keeping! Sounds like an eventful return. Hope all starts to go smoothly soon.
  19. The betta and the blue shrimp are really pretty. Excellent pictures too. That's pro level.
  20. Good thing I don't know the rules of aquascaping, because I think it looks fantastic.
  21. I think it should be ok. Alot of people stick plants like java fern into whatever crevices they can. As long as the rhizome part isn't buried in substrate, you are good to go.
  22. Goldfish are great. Looks like your plants are doing really well with them.
