    UPDATE! My dojo loach and the others are all doing well! I ended up doing 3 treatments at half dose over a weeks time ( dosing after every 48 hours plus water change first) Now I am in the process of lowering the temperature back to 76F from 84F) I am really really hoping that the treatment was complete and all the ich was dealt with . Thank you everyone for all of your help! I really appreciate it and have learned a lot of super valuable information about fish keeping and care 🙂

    So I noticed that the pH dropped by 0.5 points to 6 with the first treatment. It kind of freaked me out so I did a 20% water change which brought it back up to 6.5. I did da second treatment today and the same thing happened again, but this time I decided to wait until tomorrow to do a water change because I am worries that if I do that the medication will be less effective (I already use half dose because Dojo Loaches are sensitive to the meds so a half dose is recommended). I really hope that everyone will be ok tomorrow and the meds will be effective before the partial water change.

    Sorry I mean I removed the carbon from the filter. He is hiding a lot, but also swimming around some. No sign of improvement yet. Going to continue to monitor him and the other fish.

    Thank you! I started the treatment at half dose yesterday. Removed the filter and have been slowly raising the temperature to 86 F (We are at 83 F currently). The bottle says wait 48 hours then half dose again so I will add more meds tomorrow. I had to do a partial water change yesterday though. The pH went from 6.5 (where it usually is) to 6 which kind of freaked me out. Hopefully doing that mini water change did not lessen the effectiveness of the meds too much >_<. All the fish and snails seem to be ok. My Dojo is still pretty active, but you can still see the spots on his fins. Going to keep closely monitoring levels.

    I have a hang on back tetra whisper filter. I think I need to take the carbon out only? Also, do you know if this is safe for snails? I have 2 Nerite snails in the tank also along with a few other fish.

    Thank you! I bought melfix and API Super ICK Cure. They did not have any other ich meds there. Will this also be safe to use in the tank that has Nerite snails? I am going to use half dose and slowly raise the temp to 86 F.

    Water Parameters: pH -6.5 Nitrite - 0ppm Nitrate - 40ppm Hardness (GH) - 120ppm KH/Buffer - 0ppm Water Temperature - 76 F Ammonia - 0ppm My Dojo Loach has this strange red spot on his face. It has been there for a bit and just recently appears to have gotten larger. This morning I noticed that he starts to have small bumps on his body and small white dots. Sorry about the images, I know it is hard to see, but please can someone help me? I am new to fish keeping and really want to help him. Someone mentioned that it might be ich developing so I am going to go get some ich meds today after work. Is this what is happening?? How about the red spot on his face? Is the gravel scratching his face? Can it be heater burn? Please help me, I am so afraid for him T_T. Behavior wise, he is eating like normal and very active swimming all around the tank. Please let me know if you need any other information or images or anything. Also, sorry all the images are sideways, not sure how to get them to be the right orientation >_<
