I’ve been off and on with fish for about 6 years now following Aquarium Co-op. Self admittedly I hav been a little lazy recently and I noticed something in my fish that I am not sure should alarm me. Here’s a video of him looking like he is trying to stay in place but keeps elevating up. My guess is fish bladder but I haven’t come across many diseases. What do you think I can or should do for him? (i made a short bc my video wouldn’t upload) I have about 8 cardinal tetras and neons living in a medium planted 75 gallon tank with 4 amaño shrimp and a few nerite snails. He’s the only one with issues.

I helped a buddy of mine setup a 33 gallon planted tank. He’s been having nitrate issues the past few months and his fish are dripping like flies. I have had him do 50% water changes like once a week im confused on how to help him

Been dying to get this over flow box up and running but I am nervous. The hose that came with the system fits like a used pair of shoes; comfortable but not exactly snug. I’ve test fitted multiple times and it works but if I bump it too hard it falls out and water goes everywhere. Any tips out there to fasten this without gluing in case I needed to maintenance something here? This is my first time using a sump system and I need to get it right so I’ve been trying to be patient. Thanks In advance! 🐡🐟🐠

Hello everyone! So I live in Phoenix, Arizona and was granted an opportunity through work to travel to Florida this weekend. I’ve heard so often on the Co-op channel that Florida distributes quiet a bit of our fish and I am so excited to go. I had a couple question that I was hoping you could help with here. First, can I take fish on a plane with me? I will be flying through American Airlines round trip and no layovers which is about 4 hours or so. And if anyone has tips on how to achieve this, please fill me in! This will be my second plain ride ever and definitely the farthest from home I’ve ever been. Secondly (and more exciting) please let me know where to visit. I will be in Clearwater Florida which is close to Tampa. I would like to see about taking around an Uber since I am younger than 25 and can’t rent a car to my knowledge. I will be bringing a couple portable air pumps along to help with agitation of water during my stay in case. Also I will be searching the Forum for more info as well but I will appreciate all help I can get! thank you so much. 🐠 -Mauricio

Wooow. Such quick response and very fruitful! I will be taking this all into consideration and look into each of them. My original setup was based on the cinderblock style Cory had a few years ago and it worked well but I’ve always wanted to build something more clean looking where i can maximize my space. I appreciate all the tips here very much!! 🐠

Hello! I am in the process of building myself a fish room. It’ll be my 2.0 version and I really admire the rack supports that are in the Aquarium Co-op store. I think I can make out the general things associated with the build but was wondering if there were tips on recreating it and specifically, how it looks at the base of the shelves. If anyone has any info or even Photos of the Co-op store, i would really appreciate it! If not and if there are clever ideas out there, I’m all ears for it too THANK YOU!!!!! 🐡 -Mauricio

Hi, I wanted to add some things concerning the two local fish stores. In my experience, I live in Phoenix, Arizona but the 5 or so fish stores within drive-able distance i feel are far more beneficial to visit than a big box store like petsmart. Not to down talk that store but the way i view it is those fish stores are specialty stores and only work with fish. When I first started, I was as addicted to fish as could be and would spend so much time at both kinds of stores just staring at fish and studying the products for fish. Being a college student and only having a minimum wage part time job, I didn’t have the budget to buy uselesss things so i did my homework. When I was out of money, I would go to the petsmart just down the street from me and kill like an hour in there just in the fish section. With this being said, I would converse with the employees and found that usually those fish stores had more similar knowledge to what I found on Aquarium Co-op’s YouTube channel than the Petsmart. Now, my sister works at a Petsmart grooming dogs and she knows that since they have so many different kinds of animals, employees get little training on every animal so as to help the general customer population help when asked. I wanted to suggest, as i learned from watching an Aquarium Co-op video, do some recon in new fish stores. If i remember correctly, Cory mentioned to pay attention when the store gets their shipment (normally toward the end of the week) and make a mental note of if the store quarantines or if they sale fish as soon as getting them in. That second method usually adds extra stress of fish and decreases survival rates. Lastly, Cory had a video on siphoning from a tank. They are really old videos so you may have to scroll a bit but what I do in my 20 long is i siphon any visibly loose detritus if it bothers me but really, it just gets used from the plants especially the more plants you have. You’re doing a great job, keep the spirit alive!! 🙂

I will definitely try those catappa leaves. But as far as peat, are you referring to peat moss for gardens?

Do you happen to have any tips on lowering it? I was thinking to start changing water with RO water instead of my high tap pH. I already have driftwood in there as a buffer but maybe adding more?

Not majorly to my knowledge. I just tested with a laser thermometer (idk what it is called) it read 75 degrees F

Hello, I live in Phoenix, Arizona and have been a hobbyist since January of 2018. I currently am maintaining 10 tanks and have been doing so for about that 3 years. I have been trying to keep and even breed albino Corydoras several times but they seem to be dying on me for some reason. Majority of my tanks have eco complete are are planted. Water volume of the tanks which I’ve had these fish ranges from 10-75 gallons. Right now I am about to finish up my college career but water changes have been about every 1-1.5 weeks pretty consistently. I need to admit that i have not been great at documentation that water change schedule or when I feed ( i try feeding once every other day normally). Recently I have had one die on me and this is my 5th try keeping them out of about 5 over the past year. Extra info:{Time number 1 and 2 I did not quarantine the fish, I had not gotten into doing that just yet.After that, I took advice from Joel (COrvus oscen) and reserved a 10 gallon tank just for medicating and quarantining fish. I use the med trio once and dont feed for that week. After that week, I add the fish to a bigger tank. Try 3 and probably 4, they would die in quarantine. I recall my last try at keeping them, i fed them for the first week and then started the trio. They still died on me} As far as this recent time, I became a little confused because in the 10 gallon where I kept 2 larger albino Corydora, I remember doing a water change on a tank next to it on Thursday night and i fed this little ten gallon. This tank was originally intended for growing plants but i eventually threw in a single female guppy and when I bought these corys about 2 weeks ago, i put them in since it was self-admittedly an impulse buy. I decided I was not going to med this tank which has a aqua clear 30 on it. I did change water as i drip acclimated the fish and then added them in. Being so light of a load, I left the water change again for the next week (last week). However, fast forward, on Friday night (yesterday) as I was checking on the tanks I saw one Cory dead. What shocked me was that I saw fry along with that female guppy in this tank. I immediately removed the deceased Cory whom I just fed the night before and did a water change. Before doing so, I did check parameters. I will attach a picture to this post for reference on levels. I noticed the other COry still alive was swimming around as I perceive as normal; looking for food. I am at work at the moment and this has been bothering me all day since I don’t want to lose the last Cory I have. I hypothesize that i am not satisfying needs for these fish in my hard, Arizona water. I was wondering if anyone had tips on what I may be doing wrong. I am even willing to get into RO water and remineralizing from there if it needs to be the case. I have sourced these fish from 3 separate locations and put them in 10 gal, 40 gal, 75 gal and usually in groups of three or more. I know i can improve on monitoring and evaluating water parameters but every other tank seems to be doing just fine. NOt necessarily thriving even with the guppies but everyone tends to stay alive for the most part and happy to eat. I feed sinking wafers for the corys but also flake food for the midswimming fish. Please give me some tips or feedback if you can.🤔 Tank in pics is a 10 gallon with an Aquaclear 30. Water changes roughly every week and feed every other day. No heater, room temp about 77 as with all my tanks. Eco-complete with accidental mix of dirt in this specific tank. Use tap water for water changes which is like liquid rock.

Update, the 48 inch light works fine now but my 36 inch just keeps on declining on me. I’ve been keeping it unplugged bc it was doing a strobe effect. I tried working on it recently and now it just wont respond. I reached out to fluval bc i feel bad having to make the coop deal w it. (I live in AZ and was thinking about shipping costs and cost of light replacement. I didn’t feel it was the COops fault.) They told me to become a beta tester basically and try connecting the light. The light no longer responds or even does the strobe thing anymore.

Hi Cory! I got one from the Coop and I think I still have the box. That would be the 36 inch. Both lights will open on the app and seem to be connected. Sounds silly but I have not updated recently. I will try doing that! Thank you so much!

Hello! I’ve been following the Coop for a long time and over the few years I’ve been in the hobby, I got into fluval 3.0’s. I now have 7 but I am having issues with 2 of them. I have a 48 inch that will not respond to the button or my phone app. It’s barely on. Then another one will not respond to my phone or the button but it looks like it is on full spectrum. The second is a 36 inch I believe. I have tried plugging back in but no dice. Any tips to fix or know how I can reach out to Fluval?
