  1. My remaining 6 went through the med trio well. After the 40-50% water change they're already breeding again. I even had at least one fry survive treatment. I don't plan on actively trying to breed them but any surviving babies are certainly welcome. Hopefully everyone continues to do well. Thanks again for everyone's support!
  2. I hadn't thought of hibiscus. We love hibiscus tea. Next time I make a cup my fish are having tea 🍵.
  3. I've done blanched organically grown zucchini and cucumber slices. I peel them but don't know if this is necessary. I've also fed blanched romain and red lettuce and kale. Kale was definitely not a favorite with my plecos and I've not fed it again. My male did however thrash it around the tank voicing his apparent displeasure. Unsalted French cut canned green beans is a huge hit. Not sure if you've tried Repashy gel foods but I've never had a fish who didn't devour it after figuring out it was food.
  4. So far so good...they were not super happy with me when I first added the meds but seem okay right now. Saturday I will do a 50% water change and probably do that a couple times a week for a bit. I have 6 cories right now, they'd probably like more buddies but not until I know these guys are okay and can go in my 40. Thanks again for all the support and encouragement.
  5. Small world..., my husband works in the Kingsport area, and we lived in Kitsap County in Washington for about 10 years when my husband was a submariner but that was 12 years ago. We would love to visit the PNW again and see the Coop. I am very blessed to have two great fish stores within a hour or so.
  6. I have seen this behavior in bristlenose plecos many times when they are comfortable with their tank mates and surroundings or kept alone with appropriate hides and caves. They just seem to fall asleep and let go of their surface. I have never seen it as a sign of distress. Once something startles them or swims by, they right themselves pretty quick. Cute little plec you have there.
  7. 5g portrait with heterandria formosa that has been super fun and easy to maintain.
  8. This is my daughter's little 5g betta tank that I help her care for. Its been up about a year and also has some algae but Celestia is sassy and probably wouldn't tolerate much of a clean up crew so I haven't tried. I'm not really great at fertilizing, so my plants pout a little bit too.
  9. Thanks so much. Yes I definitely do believe it is bacterial but at this point wanted to cover all my bases. They are going through the med trio at the moment but I will definitely give this a try afterwards if I continue to see troubles. I think kanaplex treats bacteria erythromycin doesn't, correct? My survivors seem to tolerate the trio meds as of today, thankfully.
  10. This is my 29 community with cherry barbs( my favorites), white clouds, a honey gourami, and a bristlenose pleco. I will find some other pics too. This just a recent one. They aren't fancy; I often have some algae, but they're fun and I'm learning as I go. 😅 I have a 5g heterandria formosa tank that I absolutely love.
  11. This morning ammonia was 0, nitrite was 0, nitrate was 5-10, with my api master kit. I do allow nitrate to reach 20 at times. Ph is 8.2, gh is 14, kh is 8. Ph, gh and kh are definitely on the high side I realize but I also know others who keep pandas and other corydoras successfully in water this hard. I have considered softening it by mixing in RO, but honestly would rather avoid the hassle. However, I may decide to just for their tank if I can't get them healthy and not add them to a display. Oh sorry... temperature is 74-75 on the thermometer and set to 75.
  12. I have wondered the same thing as I've noticed a lot of panda trouble comments and questions around the internet. I do hope to get these guys through this but may not purchase panda corydoras again. Maybe a different type though.
  13. 😂 I should have mentioned I have a couple empty tanks in the works as well if that comment was confusing.
  14. We're saying hello from the Knoxville TN area! There are 6 tanks with fish and water in our house at the moment with various plants and fish ranging from 29 to 2.5 gallons. Some are display and others are for quarantine purposes. Much love to the coop and community!
