  1. I forgot this plants name. Can somebody help me?
  2. When your fish friends are coming over and you gotta flex.
  3. I just threw in a couple French cut green beans and a Bug bites wafer. I had sprinkled in some repashy dust last night and some fry food this morning. They didn't touch it. Maybe it was too small. They're still pretty clumped up and the egg sacs look like they're fully absorbed. Hopefully they'll start moving around soon and eating. I also added a small piece of wood.
  4. Just stripped some BN pleco fry yesterday. They seem to be finishing up their egg sack still. They haven't moved really since stripping them from their cave. I added some repashy dust tonight just in case they feel the need to start eating soon. Any tips on feeding?
  5. So I have a play sand substrate that is deeper than the average person would use. I use easy green once a week and throw some root tabs in every so often. I use shop lights for my tank lights and keep them on 12 hours a day (2 six hour intervals). I have an auto water change system that supplies a little fresh well water every night. I never vac the substrate and couldn't even if I wanted too because it's so fine. I just kind of let it do its thing. Think I've had it for 9 months. I recently found a part of the plant that looked separate from the main growth. Pulled it out and it was separate plants. Planted that and now I'm growing 2 new ones. Now I know how to make more.
  6. Just thought I would update this post with what I have done since creating it and having my questions answered. I received a lot of help and feedback. Turns out my original ventless heater had an issue. Thought I had dialed it in and fixed the issue with the flame going out because I added a vent to the room to give it more oxygen. I just thought that the room was too tight and there wasn't enough oxygen for the flame. Also added a fan to the vent and put it on a timer where it would push outside air into the room every hour for a few minutes. But as time went on there was three times where my combustible gas alarm went off and I smelled propane when checking the room and the flame was out. I kept adjusting the thermostat and vent fan pushing air in. The last time it happened I was just sick of it and turned the heater off. Ended up ordering a 30,000 BTU ventless propane radiant heater with built in fan this time. Have been using it since and its been working perfectly. The vent fan with outside air has been off so it's just static for now. I will attempt to use it in the summer to push hot air into my basement fishroom depending on the temps. inside vs. outside. Overall the ventless heater experience has been great with a correctly working unit. Prior to that I almost gave up and switched to a different method. But I know of other Fishtubers that have been using these ventless units. I messaged Michaels Fishroom directly and he told me that he's never had an issue. That was enough for me to take the loss on my original unit and order another one. I'm glad I did, been great so far.
  7. I didn't get any but would love to find some eventually.
  8. Just read a compelling article on a different forum. Pretty much the swim bladders aren't able to operate normally as fry due to high pH and water hardness. Has anyone had experience with this? I have higher pH water and hardness.
  9. This is my first batch of Angelfish. Some are moving around the tank with ease. Some are upright and staying on the bottom. Some are on their sides and getting around. About dime sizeish. They all eat and appear healthy other than not staying upright or swimming. Does anyone that has bred angels have any advice or know what this is? I thought maybe they eat so much food they can't stay upright or get off the bottom of the tank? Here's the link.
  10. Don't know about shrimp. But I think No Planaria kills snails also.
  11. I would get Fritz Zyme 7 and add it for a fish in cycle. Or get some filter material from an established aquarium.
  12. Plants are good at that. Dont change water as much.
  13. They just came out of quarantine last night. I have 12 out of 15 that made it. They are healthy and active. It worked itself out. All I did was add another airstone and added Fritz zyme 7 to take care of the 1ppm nitrite.
  14. Just leave the pH where it is normally for your water. I have 7.6-7.8 pH also and I grow cryptocoryne wendtii. Thats the best way to maintain stable pH.
  15. Two days into the med trio and they're back to normal at the bottom of the tank. Looks to be 10-11 of the original 15. I pulled out three and maybe one died prior to this or died and snails got it. Hard to get an exact count. Looking good though.
