  1. Thanks for the info and direct answers. Exactly why I asked. Much appreciated. Sticking with good old black gravel.
  2. I'm in Oklahoma just north of Texas and my tap also comes out over 82f. My fish don't seem to mind but the cold water trick to help spawn Corys is out for the summer.
  3. I am thinking of using Eco Complete for the first time. Would I still need a liquid fertilizer for the water column?
  4. I used the RR method for the plants I purchased at Aquashella. The plants looked great and on visual inspection appeared clean but after the seltzer water I found some foreign bodies. Here's a gif of the plants in the oxygenated water.
  5. Not sure if I saw anybody from the forum or not but if you were wearing the Co-Op I tried to tell you nice shirt or hat. There was so many people tho. Had a great time.
  6. No I have to pull the eggs otherwise they all get eaten. I have them in a separate container. 50% daily water change and small feedings 2 to 3 times a day.
  7. Went to Aquashella Dallas today. Had a blast even tho it was super hot. Got to meet Cory, Zenzo, Irene and Dean. Lots of people attended. Listened to Dean as well as Cory give their presentations. Cory did a Q/A. Dean spoke about his fry system and how to DIY one. Excited for tomorrow. Met some really nice people today. Pic of some of the Swag I got.
  8. Quick update. I finally purchased a mister and have begun misting the leaves. The plant is still growing out of control. I have some albino cory fry I am trying to raise successfully for the first time. I took a deep dive into live foods and have multiple cultures started. Thanks for stopping by and checking this update. I am trying to be more active and make more content. I will try to update here more.
  9. Sorry everybody summer got extremely busy there for a bit and I didn't get the chance to update or post pics at all. I can give an update now tho. I can say the seltzer water treatment was a success. Not a single hitchhiker snail made it into the new tank. The anubias have recovered nicely. I will be attempting this again when needed from here forward. Thanks again for all the work put into this for us the community.
  10. Here is the COOP's club finder. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/apps/store-locator
  11. I do believe Cory said there won't be a meet up or dinner or anything this time but I am sure we will all figure out a way to identify each other lol. I'll be in a COOP shirt as well. Big bearded dude with glasses. I'll have hand beaded earrings in as well so that should narrow it down a bit. I probably won't approach anybody first but am quite chatty in person so if you think about it come say hi.
  12. Same here. I bought a cheap net and bent the handle to late flat against the gravel vac. I also wrap a rubber band around the net to secure it to the tube. It still allows for easy gravel cleaning.
  13. Congrats everyone! Try not to look at the shipping email so it's a surprise.
  14. That's a pro tip I will give a try. Definitely not humid in my place. Thanks Guppysnail.
  15. Forgot my crypt pictures lol. Look at all those Cory eggs on that leaf! Update on the sword. I am not a fan of the fact the leaves seem to dry out even tho it is supposed to grow out of the water correct? But other than that I am hoping they flower some day and I enjoy having the green growing out.
  16. My favorite plant right now is this red/bronze crypt. It's been in this tank since I set it up and it is thriving. I've gotten multiple babies from it and have spread them around in other tanks and to other people. It's just beautiful.
  17. Will do. Thank you for the information. I will post updates for sure.
  18. Picture of some eggs on the anubias after about 30 minutes into aerated water. They look solid white now and are easy to see. Picture of the bucket after math. Some dead bladder snails for sure and quite a bit of free floating snail egg masses that you can't really see in the picture.
  19. After 12 hours I moved the plants to aerated water. I did a visual inspection while moving and didn't notice anything on the frogbit. I did notice lots of snail eggs on the anubias that look normal/unchanged. I will have additional updates later today.
  20. Holy cow 18 tacos won last year? I seriously thought I would have a chance of winning this and thought i might be able to do 12 but I don't think I will be able to do 18. We will see. I never eat Taco Bell so not sure what to expect. Jeez 18 tacos lol
  21. Sorry for the delay. I could not find Seltzer in stock anywhere and finally found some at Walmart. I've got the plants in a dark 5 gallon bucket, covered with Seltzer and a plate for weight, wrapped in a towel and a box to keep the light out. Will be removing them in the morning and observing for the next week.
