  1. I went full NERM and made a hatchery station. I really like using the inkbird controllers, I know I'll always have proper temp in my cold basement. Its still working great, I hatch bbs almost every day.
  2. I only got about two feet, no big deal in northwest PA haha.
  3. I only feel comfortable putting tanks on 3/4 hardwood plywood. Not OSB plywood (oriented strand board). OSD plywood is susceptible to warping.
  4. I have 3 tens underneath a 40 breeder Petco Imagitarium stand. I cut a piece plywood to fit across the bottom bars to support them. Works great for MTS.
  5. 3ml pipette, use for feeding out baby brine shrimp or filling water test tubes.
  6. When is the coop brine shrimp salt coming?? I saw it in the store employee video 👀
  7. Squeeze bottles from Walmart for fish food Plastic dish pans from Dollar Tree for all kinds of stuff Magnetic hooks from Harbor Freight for hanging tools and towels on metal racks Brass grommet kit to turn any towel into a hanging towel Kasa Wifi timer for lights Coop Algae Scrubbers A nice workbench/workspace Mason jars for scooping some water instead of always grabbing a hose Something to play music while you're working in the fishroom, I prefer a FM radio Interlocking EVA foam tiles, makes kneeling and working more comfortable A phone charger, flashlight, comfy chair.
  8. An upcoming outbreak of Cyanobacteria can cause a bad smell, like sulfur.
  9. I had duckweed completely covering a 40B with a group of Platies. I started feeding less fish food and they eventually they started eating the duckweed, all of it, hasn't come back since. Resumed normal feeding after that.
  10. If you fill your tank with a Python style hose you can attach a flow meter to it to see how many gallons actually go into the tank after you've added substrate, hardscape, decor, etc.
  11. I love using these for cleaning all kinds of aquarium equipment, works great.
  12. The aquarium in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is on screen a few times during the movie.
  13. I always notice when watching Schitts Creek that the aquarium in the motel lobby never even has water in it haha.
  14. African Cichlid fry - Aristo Yellow Blaze, seen enjoying some baby brine shrimp. I originally ordered a group of all male Cichlids. I noticed this one smaller fish that looked like it had something stuck in its mouth. Having never bred Cichlids before it took me a few days to realize she must be a female holding eggs. I moved her to a separate tank where she let out at least two dozen fry.
  15. Definitely a Tetra, Red Eye or Reed Tetra is my guess.
  16. Thanks Nerms! It's nice to be part of such a great forum.
  17. Couldn't leave this guy in the pet store cups, too cool. Promptly named Oynx by my lovely girlfriend.
  18. I keep two 10 gallons with a sponge filter going all the time, bare bottom with plastic plants for cover. I use the med trio regardless if I see something obvious or not.
  19. Thats what it looks like to me. I have a whole tank full of it haha.
  20. I use the Cobalt MJ1200, seems like they may be discontinued now. I think Marineland sells the same pump under a different name.
