  1. surprise, they can hold sperm for many many months. it is a female guppy. i dont think she looks pregnant, but it is possible.
  2. you should rinse your carbon in cold water first to get the dust out.
  3. for the most part, carbon is carbon. some is dustier than others, but its all the same.
  4. juvenile form of a predator, you dont want it in your tank!!!
  5. tank size, budget, more info..........
  6. https://www.pepperidgefarm.com/product-categories/goldfish-crackers/
  7. holy cow, this thing is going to be killer. going to look great, and you cant get much more durable finish than powder coating.
  8. its just a bacteria/fungus, and it is non harmful. it is absolutely normal with spider wood, and it will go away on its own. to speed it up, you can pull it and wipe/rinse it off, or fish will also nibble at it. its unsightly, but dont worry about it.
  9. yes, i should have worded my response better, i get new crypt leaves popping up all over.
  10. they absolutely will root deeply in gravel. have them in my 120, and if you crawl under it and look at the bottom of the glass, it looks like someone spilled a giant pot of spaghetti. 2-2.5" of gravel is sufficient .
  11. you would have to alter the flow in the aquarium, but in the end that just moves the poop around. ive also always noticed the area in front of and below the intakes for my filters tend to collect a bunch of solid waste. its just one of them things.
  12. so true, and so sad, and im saying this as someone who had an aunt who wore a beehive until the day she died.
  13. purple is supposedly about the hardest color to keep pure in guppy's. purple dragons, i saw a tank full of them once, marked all sold, and they were very cool looking. i would have bought a trio or three of them, they are a great looking fish.
  14. plus or minus 2 or 3 degree's i dont worry much. after that it starts to be a concern. colder moving to slightly warmer isnt so bad, but warm moving to colder can really shock them. so more than a few degrees put them in a bucket with water from the tank they are coming from, and add a little water from the tank they are going into every few minutes . for a small difference, it likely wont take 15 minutes or so to ease them into the temp change.
  15. ive never noticed my panda garras going after bba.
  16. is it exposed to a lot of natural daylight coming through a window? green water is often triggered by that hot intense daylight coming in through a window.
  17. spiderwood is the best bet for not turning the water colors.
  18. its subjective. i used to have 5 SAE's in my 120, and they were just fine, but i had lots of plants they liked to lay in. only issues i ever had with them was come feeding time they would just push their way into the food. they werent aggressive, but they were getting in there and eating!
  19. ive not tried it, but i dont see it ending well for the chilis.
  20. driftwood is not hard to keep. you cant over feed it, cant give it too much light, and it doesnt care about water parameters.
