its not best for them as mentioned they have a slime coat that helps prevent infections etc. now having said that years ago i had a gar that always refused to get out of the way when i was cleaning and id have to grab him and move him, but i didnt go out of my way to do it.

guppy's are like a box of chocolates, ya never quite know what youre going to get .

water changes are really needed based on water quality and fish health. IMO the once a week water change is usually much more than needed.

my guess is they were originally the exact same species, but due to separation, and time they slowly changed to meet their environment and became still the same but visibly distinctive. its kind of like comparing white tailed deer in florida to the ones in MN, the fla ones run around 100# or less, and the ones in MN can go well over 200, yet are the same animal. just my theory, and with that i have no problem crossing guppy's, and endlers.

i dont know if it is the best fertilizer, but it is a good all around fert at a fair price.

guppy fry are easy, just crush up really fine whatever you feed the adults.

you have to look at it like a rock chip in your windshield. we have all seen a good rock chip that never grew, and we have all seen ones that were fine for a few months, then it split all over the windshield. sadly it was a nice tank, but never worth the risk where it can cause damage.

im not so worried about the left edge there with the silicone, but more the right hand side where the chip is splintering out. i would be very leery of that tank.

thats awesome, i get them rarely, and usually only find 1 that makes it.

ill be the devils advocate here. pretty much every living things needs a small amount of salt in its system to function. now i dont advocate going crazy, but a half to full tablespoon of salt for 20/30 gallons or more is not a bad thing (now to really fire people up, yes thats way more than any water softener will ever induce). a tiny bit is good for things imo, and when dosed in higher quantities, its still a good medication.😈
