  1. What’s the white appearing on its fins?? 1st pic- yesterday 2nd & 3rd pic- last night The rest of the pics are today. Parameters 0.25, 0, 10-20 Recently had ammonia spike due to canister filter breaking and the angel had red lines outlining its body. They’ve faded but now the white. I’ve been doing fairly large water changes with prime and stress coat almost every day. What else should I do?? Meds? What is it?? Thanks
  2. @Colu I do have some fluval ammonia remover but my thinking was it would remove the ammonia, starve the bacteria, and crash my cycle. Maybe that’s not the case. I have been monitoring my ph and today is the first time I’ve noticed a difference in ph. My tanks ph is about 7.0 and my tap (well water) is about 7.8. What does this mean for my fish?
  3. @Struggle first koi had a lot of red lines which have gotten better but now I noticed round white patches on the anal fin. It’s def not ich. It’s bigger, isn’t raised and not all perfect circles. 🤷🏻‍♀️ the second angel pictured now a small white protrusion under its pectoral fin but on the body. It also has the red lines. the last pic is the same koi in the first pic. It’s belly seems kind of sunken in? Maybe I’m being extra paranoid. They’re all eating great. Lethargic acting still. ammonia .25, nitrite 0 and nitrate 10-20 I’m still just performing water changes and using prime to detoxify the ammonia. Wondering if I should start a med?
  4. Kind of long but any help is greatly appreciated....🙏🏼 55 gallon Ammonia was .25-.5 and still is .25 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 5.0 Ph 7.4 I had an ammonia spike. (I’m doing water changes and have added prime) A couple weeks ago my canister filter started leaking. I had to use my hang on back filter until I received the part to fix my canister. Once the part came I hooked my canister back up but I think I lost some beneficial bacteria in the process even though I put my sponges in the hang on back filter and the rest of the media inside the aquarium. The hang on back filter was a topfin 60. It didn’t move my water as well and my water started to develop an odor which it never had before. I have added charcoal and I've done a water change yesterday and today. Today I used some stress coat and prime. Yesterday after the water change they all shed their slime coats. They were twitching and shaking their heads(today too after water change). Today I noticed the red streaks, shown in the pics with arrows, which weren’t visible before. The red streaks are in dorsal and anal fins of the 2 koi’s too. The angel in pics #4-6 is looking white on top it’s head. I circled those areas. The 2 koi’s fins have also started to look cloudy/milky when they were completely clear a couple days ago. They are still eating. Is this just ammonia causing all the issues or is there more I need to be treating?? Septicemia, Columnaris, HITH? What do I do to save my fish? 🥺 white areas circled- not fuzzy or cottony, doesn’t look dented or like a crater either...
  5. @BNyethey look and act normal and healthy. Just the flashing. I can usually sit in front of the tank at any point in the day and eventually see zebra danios flash. Same with the guppies. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  6. @Cory I’ve used paracleanse, paraguard, prazipro, ich x and wormer plus. They were in a larger community tank. Those fish have been ok besides flashing. They’ve all been treated with the same meds and all my other fish look and act completely healthy.
  7. @BNye in my 55g, the zebra danios do it the most and it’s everyday if I sit down and watch the tank a while I will always see at least one do it. They do it a lot during water changes. My larger/older angel has flashed some, not often, and my younger/smaller angel did it a few times the other day during a water change. The angels rub against the glass. I did have a clown loach in there that would flash like crazy when he would get over top of my slate rock. The guppy tank I will notice daily as well. There is nothing visible on any of the fish. Never has been. I had a couple guppies die a few months back but they looked like they had an illness (no flashing) and I was told probably due to the water being too soft for them. But I have 7 adults and 30 fry that are all doing well now.
  8. @BNye55g- I have 2 angels, Golden Chinese algae eater, peppered corydoras and yoyo loach. My guppy tank is set at 79 as well and they flash also. If it’s an irritation I hope they will be ok long term. Idk what else to do for them besides try a different water source which I’m not sure how I would go about doing that for a 55g and 29g tank...
  9. 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrates ph 7.4 temp 79° gh was 3° but raised to 8-9° a week ago for the first time I have a 55g community tank and a 29g guppy tank. My fish are flashing in both aquariums since I bought them in June and started treating in July. I’ve treated with ich-x, kordon ich attack, paraguard, prazipro and wormer plus. Nothing has helped. The zebra danios in the 55g flash a lot during water changes. I use api stress coat during water changes. I didn’t know if the gh was an issue so I raised that but that’s only been a week ago. I lost a few guppies but not sure if it was related. I have 7 adults and 3 different fry births. They are all doing good. At this point I have stopped treating. I’m running carbon so there are no meds present. I live on well water that contains iron. It does turn things rusty looking. I’m not sure if that would cause the issue. Any idea what this could be or how to treat? I had a ton of small snails that snuck their way into my tank. This wormer plus killed them all.
  10. 0 ammonia 0 nitrites 10 nitrates Ph 7.4 Gh 8° Temp 79° I’ve had my 10 neon tetras since June and they were fine until a few weeks ago when I noticed one or two of them becoming very skinny and isolating from the group. Their gills looked like they were protruding. They were in a 55g community tank but I have moved them all into a 10 gallon quarantine tank. I am now down to 7 neons and a couple more that are very skinny, one is missing an eye as of a couple days ago and the others have bumps/knots on their stomachs. I’ve treated with multiple parasitic meds with no luck.
