  1. Yes I think it could be dropsy. I’ve done everything that online says to do for it but unfortunately my fish is only getting worse
  2. Hello! I’ve had my Betta for 2+ years. A few weeks ago my cat messed with flow valve on the filter and turned it down so low that it wasn’t actually flowing into the tank. I don’t know how long it was like this. I didn’t notice until I noticed my fish being very lethargic. I immediately fixed the filter and then did a water change. But it seems the damage was done. She immediately started swelling and her scales are sticking up. She’s had two rounds of maricyn 2, I’ve added aquarium salt to the tank, and I’ve done a round of general cure. Unfortunately she seems to be getting worse and I don’t know what to do. Water parameters are normal.
  3. I’m back everyone!!!!! My wonderful Female GloFish Betta has three weird looking black spots on her. The two smaller ones by her spine she’s had for quite some time so didn’t think anything of it. But now they are bigger and she has gained a third spot on the lower part of her body. What could it be and should I be worried? Seems to be acting normal and eating. Also, I replaced my substrate with Fluval Stratum and all though my plants are doing swimmingly thanks to a UV filter to clear up the green water I have noticed lots of tiny critters crawling all over my glass. Some are round like bugs and others squiggly like worms, and some are baby pest snails. Again, should I be concerned?
  4. @Jungle Fanthat’s along the lines of what I was thinking. Either using magnets or superglue or both. I have to go to the eye doctor tomorrow anyway so I’ll run to the store while I’m at it and see what I can find.
  5. Sure thing! My HBO is from aquarium CoOp and the UV filter is Green Killing Machine on Chewy. I also included a picture of my tank right after I cleaned it and put the Fluval Stratum in it. Just a little 10gal tank with 4 Nerite snails, one baby “pest” snail and a female GloFish Betta
  6. I’m back again!!! This tank I swear!! Lol. Hopefully I’m posting this in the correct forum. 😬 Ok, so I was having a ton of trouble when I switched my substrate to all purpose sand. Weird fuzzy stuff growing, horrible hair algae and then green water so thick you couldn’t see anything.the algae was so bad it ruined my decorations. L So I scooped all of that out and replaced it with fluval stratum, I also bought a UV filter since my four nerite snails are not keeping up with the algae like my two mystery snails did. Well....the UV filter is supposed to just clip onto my hang on back, however it is the exact same size and the spot it is supposed to snuggle into and so it will not attach. I don’t have a lot of money and would really like to make this work. Has anyone managed to rig their UV filters to work for their tanks? Thanks in advanced!!!
  7. I’m more concerned about accidentally sucking it up with the syphon during water changes. I fixed the images
  8. My tank water temp is 76-80. I have it on a heater controller
  9. Hello everyone! Sadly I lost my mystery snails recently after changing my substrate. I have no clue what happened. Anyway, last weekend I got four nerite snails. They are definitely not as active as my mystery were, I haven’t seen two of them since the day I added them, and so far are not doing a very good job cleaning the tank. But anyway the real reason I’m posting is because I discovered the tiniest baby snail crawling in my glass!! I’m assuming this is a pest snail from my new aquarium CoOp plants as I added a bunch more plants when I change my substrate. My tank needs a thorough cleaning because there’s terrible algae everywhere and the nerite snails are slacking on their rent here. What can I do to protect this dear baby snail when I go to do my water changes and clean the tank?@Cory feel free to add input if you’d
  10. Well unfortunately my blue snail has not moved in a week and my gold snail seems to be following suit as I have not seen it for two days 😕
  11. Well I noticed worms crawling on the glass. So I dosed Ich-x. The next day my Betta's poop looked just like the snail's. My golden snail perked right up after the dose of Ich-x. My blue snail is not completely closed up but is also not out and active and I don't see movement. =/

  13. I replaced my substrate with all purpose sand. I rinsed it really well and still my fish tank was extremely cloudy for 24hrs. Ever since then though my snails have been quite lethargic. They have this weird white stuff hanging from them. Now I don’t know if this is normal poop that’s binding with the sand so it looks weird. Or there’s something else going on. I did test my water today and my PH was too high. I did a small dose of PH down so as to not shock my critters and added Indian almond leaves to handle the rest. Should I be worried or do I just need to give it time?
