  1. Detritus Worms! Or as i like to call it, free fish food. I've been told to feed less and water change often to get rid of them. Haven't been successful but also really haven't tried.
  2. Thanks Cory. Looking forward to putting my order in when released.
  3. Hey everyone! i try to stay up to date on the news and announcements from Cory and the team. I watched the video where he was talking about the new nets coming in. Has he said anything more about them? Are they OOS and selling already? I’m transporting more fish and moving tanks back and forth. Better nets would be great right about now. thanks everyone!
  4. I was listening to the COOP podcast and heard Cory talking about getting buckets made for COOP swag. This got me thinking as I have a love hate relationship with the 5 gallon buckets. They are super useful but often degrade fairly quickly as I am not the kindest to my buckets. ESPECIALLY the handles that get bent under the weight of water, substrate, etc. I found that Tractor Supply sells a bucket under the brand Fortiflex. These things are heavy duty buckets! They even come with a warranty of 1 year on black colors and a 5 year warranty on the colors. I choose a red one because I wanted a bit of color. I think these are used for large animal feeding with the notch in the handle. The handles have a metal support under the bucket lip and can stand vertically on their own. The plastic material is a bit rubbery and thick. There is lines with measurements on the inside of the bucket. Lastly they have a flat side that allows them to hang next to a wall and not roll. Has anyone else messed with these buckets? I am leaving a link below: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/fortiflex-fb-120-flat-back-bucket-20-qt-capacity
  5. I have both for my guppy community tank with loaches. I feed the easy fry food more as they are breeding often but they will eat up the nano eagerly as well. If i had to pick one i would get the easy food if i knew fry were coming. I will say that if you overfeed like i do you should anticipate more filter changes. I run prefilters on my HOB and i have to clean them more often when using the easy fry food.
  6. I've tried the marineland 36" and i have the coralife 4' on now. Both put out about the same amount of light to me and my val, moss and small anubias all grow ok. I just think with the height of a 55 you really need a light that will push down in the tank. If i cared to spend the money i would get a fluval so i know the light level could hit the bottom. But i'm happy with the light output and it is growing (slowly) so i'm not too worried about it. In another couple of experiment tanks i'm doing a dirt bottom with potting soil mix and those plants are GROWING. I just have them under a hyper tough led fixture from Wally World. Those almost seem to grow as you are watching them. They are also in 10 gallon tanks so not as much water to get through.
  7. Are you keeping the water flowing at the tap while draining your tank? My sink didn't have enough flow and i had to use a utility sink in my Mud Room. I ultimately don't like it for cleaning the tank and i just use the gravel vac into a bathtub. I only hook it up to fill the tanks back up. I hate carrying the buckets! 🙂
  8. Daniel there is a lot going on in that photo. What did you do to your chair! 😛 How is the BD substrate looking? I just bought two bags yesterday after seeing other posts about it. I heard good and bad about it but i'm eager to try it out myself. Are you a HAM by any chance?
