What Angelfish Would You Breed?
Shenandoah Aquatics replied to Shenandoah Aquatics's topic in Fish Breeding
This is more along the lines of what is one of the most popular varieties that sells online and relative ease of breeding. -
If you were getting into Angelfish breeding and selling online what would you choose to breed?
-
I am going to use these for building my new fish room. Do you think a piece of plywood should be placed down or is it ok to put the tanks directly on the shelves?
-
Thank you, I watched these and I believe my biggest mistake the one time that I pulled the eggs was that the fry were still too small for BBS. I didn't have micron or first bites to supplement. Also I wanted to ask your thoughts on Peroxide vs. Methylene Blue (I used that the only time I pulled the eggs) And I am hoping to get some gold from blacks as well, if not I may have to reach out to you and get a few of your golds if you still have any. What other breeding projects do you have going on?

What do you think would be the most sought after in breeding and selling online? What are the major differences between the two types, I know the Yuan Bao is an oranda crossed with Ranchu and Ryukin (I believe). Give me all your thoughts! Thanks!

I have a couple of pairs of black rams that keep eating their eggs. I have them on sand along with the clay pot setup that Dean uses. They have eaten their spawns several times and I really want to try to get the parents to raise the fry. I pulled the eggs once but the fry didn't make it long. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Breeding Rainbow Shiners - Attempt #4
Shenandoah Aquatics replied to Fish Folk's topic in Fish Breeding
Any success? @Fish Folk -
That is great! Hey I am in Virginia, about two hours from PVAS and I am hoping to start coming now that the restrictions have went down. I would love to see what everyone else is breeding. Regarding, Greg Sage, I did email him about 6 months ago and he wasn't able to give me an idea of the availability. I guess I will keep hunting!
-
Does anyone know where to find these? Greg Sage doesn't seem to have them now and who knows when they will be available.

Goldfish Stores on the East Coast
Shenandoah Aquatics replied to Shenandoah Aquatics's topic in General Discussion
Yes I have seen these! I am more interested in buying some grown in order to breed them! I have juveniles growing up but I’m not patient enough!!! -
Does anyone know where there are some good stores that sell good quality goldfish, specifically orandas? I'm located in Virginia. Thanks!
-
I would love to hear from some of you about breeding goldfish, especially how you can develop different colors. I am real interested in tackling a Thai Oranda breeding project, but I honestly have no clue of what to look for in breeders and what to expect. Whats happens normally when you breed a black with an orange? How do you develop Apache? Tri-color? Etc. I am really in the dark in understanding these things and would love for someone to explain it to me. Thank you!
-
How fast do Orandas normally grow? When could one expect them to start coloring up? Thanks!
-
Can anyone help me to see these Orandas? I’m looking to get a pair to start breeding but I want to get someone else’s input. Thanks!
-
So, I have fell in love with Thai Orandas and I want to start my next breeding project with them, but I was curious as to a couple of things. 1) Where is the best place to find them online? 2) Is it better to buy really nice male and females that are 4-5 inches+? If so how many, a trio? 3) Or is it better to buy them young in a fry pack of 10 or so and raise them up? Any other suggestions will be more than welcome! Thank you!

Heat Pack Temperature
Shenandoah Aquatics replied to Shenandoah Aquatics's topic in General Discussion
Yes, Dwayne, this is why I am asking about temperatures. It doesn't matter where you are located, but the temperatures that determine whether or not you need a heat pack. -
I need some help identifying what’s going on with this swordtail of mine. Her top fins seem to have an issue. Thank you!

Shenandoah Aquatics replied to Shenandoah Aquatics's topic in General Discussion
Lots of different types depending on the week. From livebearers to South American cichlids. I am just looking for a general idea that people use. -
