  1. Good new first. Gone are the days of 0 Nitrogen, high phosphorus with stunted growth & brown Alge. Things are growing much better. "Bad news" pretty sure my plants are lacking in Iron. (all stem plants). Rotola looks OK, but the Wysteria leaves are super lime green and so thin they nearly translucent. I've dosed Flourish Iron 4 times in 10 days and see no difference except the Rotola is more pink/red. Questions: Am I on the right track or could it be something else? If on the right track will the existing leaves improve, or just the new growth and how long before I actually see it improve? I noticed the plants ate the hell out of Nitrogen until they finally 'caught up" now they are not using it as quickly. Is it the same with Iron or other deficiencies?
  2. Thx. So, they should get "caught up" on their lack of NO3 to some degree and the needs should level out? (like being sleep deprived) The irony is I added the emerged plants about a month ago thinking/reading/advised I had to many nutrients.....but I know now, that just added to my problem. I took out 2 of them the other day and might take out the others if I need to, at least until the tank if fully stocked. My 2nd tank that had the same issue seems to have caught up finally. (it's also much more heavily stocked)
  3. Low tech, plain gravel and lightly planted compared to most I've seen. 8 Roselines 2 Rams 7 Serpa Tetras 12 Green Rasbora 3 Small Angles 2 Longnose/stick catfish I'm just blown away buy how much these plants are eating.
  4. As a follow up to the post below. I've been dosing 2x of EG every 2 days in my 75 gallon. The plants are doing much better but I'm still lucky to detect any NO3. I'm adding fish every week and feeding 3x a day to try and feed these plants. My 35g tank which had the very same issue finally "caught up" and is stabilized NO3 15-30ppm. I assume the 75g will get there eventually. Thoughts?
  5. I'm struggling with my plants for about 6 months now and I'm fairly certain it's because I just don't have enough Nitrogen. Woohoo! I have some Easy Green on the way! All the advice I had been getting/finding was to lower the lights & do water changes, add more plants...you probably have to many nutrients. So, I did that and that just made it worse. It wasn't until the other day, that someone recommended to test Phosphates and they were 3PPM while NO3 was 0. This past week I added 2-3x the recommended Flourish and plants are better, but I still don't think it's enough. What would be the recommended dosage of Easy Green at this point to get things in order? Do I need to worry about overdose the other elements?
