  1. Tractor supply! These are 110 gallon and were only $75!
  2. Ok that’s the missing link. Didn’t know there were outside extensions and “clamshell cover” would the the searchable term for what is probably the thing on the outlet outside currently. Thanks!
  3. I’m not using anything right now I’m asking how people plug their heaters and such outside without moisture/rain risk. I need access to more then just the two plug ins on the side of the house which I didn’t install and are absolutely gfci with appropriate covers. That doesn’t do anything for the idea that I’d have something plugged in rain or shine. Or does it?
  4. I’m sure this is a dumb question but when setting up mini ponds how does everyone run electricity safely? I’m too impatient to wait for them to heat up on their own (I’m in va beach and they hit 74 once then a cooler snap dropped them back down to mid 60s) so I want to run heaters. Also need electricity for the air pump and water pump. Ponds are 110gallon tubs along my house where I do have an outside outlet I can run an extension on but how do I protect it from rain? Dying to start tossing guppies in lol Pic of my kids clearly not understanding it’s being set up for fish not as a pool. 🤦‍♀️🤣 Thanks! Nicole
  5. Fenbendazole (that dog dewormer) will kill nerite snails for sure. I’ve totally killed nerites like that. Didn’t hurt the bladder and ramshorns tho.
  6. My husband, who is the one that would set this up, is asking if you have pictures of that set up. I’m not sure what ours is running psi right now but we’re trying to figure that out. 🧐
  7. So stupid question where do you put that pump? Like do you install it right behind system?
  8. In reference to a booster pump how does that work? I have The following system I got off Amazon and so far I love it. I guess I really don’t understand how this works since I had no idea a waste so much water! I am on city water and I have very high nitrates and nitrites coming from my tap. I originally started using the system because I was keeping shrimp but I just use it for everything now because I don’t trust my tapwater. I do remineralize but I have not heard of salty shrimp so I’m still using up my Seachem remineralization stuff. Anyway how would I add a pump to make this system more efficient? I wish it was upstairs where all my fishtanks were so any suggestions on that would be awesome. 🤦‍♀️😂 right now we fill 1 gallon jugs and drag them upstairs. thanks! Nicole
  9. Use Prime so the ammonia isn’t toxic while it re balances itself. I use double the dose every 48hrs and it seems to work great. I crashed my cycle in three tanks guessing by over feeding new guppy fry and I’ve been doing this with water changes waiting for the cycle to catch up and no losses with quite a few babies. I was also adding Stability although I know the verdicts out on how effective it is. I had it on hand and figured it can’t hurt so might as well use it up. On another note I tried to give my daughter a purple mystery snail for her five gallon with her betta and it was a disaster. They’re so big and dirty it made it pretty rough maintaining her tank. The ramshorns were much more complimentary in that size tank and didn’t mess with the parameters like the mystery did as it got big. hope this helps! Nicole
  10. Do you guys have a heater that fits in the lid the way the it’s intended? My house is too cool and I’m getting poor hatch rates plus it takes several days to hatch. I wasn’t sure doing a totally submersed heater would be better then sticking one in the lid but I can’t find one that doesn’t have to be fully submersed. 😕 Thanks nicole
