  1. I would use a 40 gallon breeder, and plan to move them to a 75 gallon or larger as they grow.
  2. My metal racks are from a local commercial shelving company, they are in branded so I don’t know who makes them. They are a rivet type shelving and are adjustable about every inch. They do have heavy duty cross bars that have no deflection under the weight load of the tanks. I also add 3/4” plywood shelves on each level. Of note; these aren’t sold in a kit each piece is individual, do for a unit I buy the uprights I need, the side to side rails in the load bearing weight category I want (there are three types), and the side a middle supports in the depth I want. I buy and cut my own plywood as having them do it is too expensive. I also do use a metal strap to my walls somewhere near the tops of the units.
  3. Snails can eat eggs and/or damage them if not for a meal. I don't think eggs are the primary meal that snails are seeking out, but they probably smell good and if opportunity strikes my guess is they make them a snack. Of other concern, you mentioned that you moved the snails to your quarantine tank, be sure to not add medications with them in there by accident. Some meds will kill snails. Then again, I have no idea why I'm protecting snails. .. . . . . ..
  4. Only thing I would say is they get big, be prepared for that. Also IMO the South American ones are a far nicer looking and more personable fish. I have one from Peru, you can buy it if you’d like and have a way of transporting it.
  5. So I've been thinking about this new Co-Op Boater Floater Keychain. I typically don't drop my keys in the lake, but........... This could work, right? What can you do with yours?
  6. Sorry guys, I have no idea which video it might be. I do know it’s out there somewhere. maybe a new series compartmentalizing the various components of a fishroom would be good. Not just mine but other key elements we see in other fish rooms.
  7. So I’m thinking if enough of you beg @Coryor @Zenzo or @JimmyGimbal we could do a DIY video on how I put this DIY Feeding Bell together. No it’s not super tough to do and works great for feeding those freeze dried tubifex cubes to condition your cories to spawn.
  8. Jimmy came to film in my fishroom yesterday, be watching the co-op channel for some new content soon. In the bag of goodies that Jimmy picked up at the shop for me was this random “nerm” sticker. He told me a random customer dropped a few by the shop. So now one of them on display in my fishroom. But we haven’t found that random customer that created them. Maybe he or she hangs out here?
  9. When using the mixing valves for water changes you will need to dump water until it comes to temperature. Or you can use that water in tanks that aren't as sensitive to cool water. In my case I'm lucky my water heater is 3 feet from my mixing valve so getting to temperature is very quick. They will work with tankless water heaters.
  10. IMO a 75 would be loo large f a take for breeding purposes. My pair has spawned in a 20 long. Keep in mind that they are egg scatterers and there could be thousands of microscopic eggs. There is no parental care do you will need to attempt to collect up a bunch of eggs and try to raise them. For more on that you should find all the puffer information that Preston John has put out, he had successfully spawned them and raised up the fry.
  11. Look for a Watts Low Temperature Mixing valve, https://www.supplyhouse.com/Watts-0559110-3-4-LFL1170M2-UT-Lead-Free-Threaded-Lo-Temp-Mixing-Valve I used one for about 5 years and it worked pretty good.
  12. That is a paint strainer that is designed to fit on a five gallon bucket. I got it from Amazon. The mesh is built into it.
  13. That is Sunday November 7th, when I’ll be speaking.
  14. I'll be speaking at Southwest Aquatic Society in Phoenix Arizona. The meeting is on Sunday afternoon November 7th, I think at 1:00 and I think there will be a question and answer get together the Friday or Saturday before. The meeting is at The Old Spaghetti Factory, 3155 W. Chandler Blvd, Chandler, AZ At this time I don't know where the Q&A session will be at.
  15. Look for a new video coming out from the Co-op. We made a DIY one about the fry boxes I make.
