I keep tacking on Eheim 400s to feed air to an additional two large sponge filters as I add tanks to my fish room, and I honestly love how quiet they are. I think it's time to switch to something more serious that can service 15 or so sponge filters. Is there anything out there that doesn't sound like a jet engine?

@nabokovfan87 The lid is BARELY wide enough. And I mean barely. Its WAY too deep, with a couple inches of glass hanging over the edge, even without the plastic extender piece. i still have the lid because I wanted yo have somehting on there until I find one with a proper fit but maybe that doesn't exist unless i make it, which I wasn't looking to do this round.

@nabokovfan87 Do you know how to get a hold of TopFin? All the contact info I can find points to Petsmart. I contacted their customer help desk and they said that they "are not aware of a lid that fits that tank". What in the world.

Running into a problem I'm sure others have seen. I've scoured the internet for a solve but not seeing anything. I purchased a 40g TopFin tank from Petsmart. The dimensions as listed on the website are: Dimensions: 36.5 in L x 15.5 in W Upon picking it up, I looked for a lid, and the asscoiate assured me this was the right lid. It even said "IDEAL FOR 40G AQUARIUMS" on the box. The 40g lid from Petsmart shows these dimensions: Product Dimensions: 35 in L x 16.5 W Needless to say, it doesn't fit. Has anyone ever found a proper fitting lid for the TopFin 40g tank?

Just learned that they do seasonally climb out of water and can fly. WHAT IN THE WORLD. Says typically in spring but when WA only has two seasons they have to make do. It’s over an inch long. 👀

Found this in a waste bucket. Is it a diving beetle of some kind or something terrestrial that wandered in and knows how to swim?

@Cory thanks for the reply. Was glad that my intuition was right on bending the arms out, I did that. The rubber inside seems to be in very good condition, no tears or cracks. both airlines are going to two sponge filters that have been recently cleaned, so no flow issues there. In fact, even with nothing on the end at all all, I can tell that the air pressure coming out is pretty weak.

Trying to troubleshoot an eheim 200 that’s gotten weaker over time. Anyone know how to get it back to normal strength?

I recently added a CO2 setup to my 75g “moderately planted” tank. I’m not totally new to CO2 setups and have run one on a 20g for a year… but I’m wondering what kind of bubble count I should be looking for on a larger tank? How many bubbles in 5 sec is a good starting point for a 75g tank?

Thanks for the info. Super helpful. Also, I got the impression you felt bad about being honest with your experience, so I just say that I appreciate that honesty and also not trying to smear anyone along the way. I would expect Co Op to want that kind of feedback.

I’ve done some research on adding a quality C02 setup to my 75 planted tank. I currently run a frankenstein kit on my favorite 20g so I’m familiar with the concept and setup. I’ve seen some cheaper brands on Amazon I’m leery of (CLSCEA and ZRDR) since it will be in the house and CO2 leaks are not something to mess with. Anyone have a full kit they’ve bought in the last year or two they love? Thanks in advance.

@Ethan63 I have not found the temperature is crazy important as they have bred within the recommended range for king tiger care. They are in a planted and 75 gallon. It’s a community tank with a variety of tetras and other pleco species. Finding confirm females is really the only tricky part. GH is around seven. TDS below 200. The cold water/rain simulation trick works well with most of my Pleco‘s.

I have a breeding group of L333. Maybe a dozen successful groups raised from eggs. Happy to answer questions.

Then it’d be accurate to say the 4x Eheims are far more cost effective?

Question about power consumption. On my rack currently, I'm using 4x Eheim 200s currently. According to the Eheim website, they are 3.5W each unit (would be 14w for all 4). Am I correct in saying that the 50W Vivosun is using substantially more power than the 4 Eheims? https://eheim.com/en_GB/aquatics/technology/air-pumps/air/air200

UPDATE: Purchased the Vivosun to try it out. IT'S REAL LOUD. Will be returning for sure.

Anyone had positive/negative experiences with the Vivosun Multi-Head pumps? I'm looking at the 50W model that has 8 heads, all running to sponge filters. Is there a better brand or more effective/quieter model I should be looking at? Website says: (Pressure>0.03Mpa; Output:70L/min; Max Flow: 1110 GPH) Thanks for any input!

Looking for input from those who have painted the back of their tanks. I’ve seen some talk about Plastidip, and others insist on rolling two coats to avoid bubbles showing up later. Anyone with experience that can weigh in on this?

Wondering if anyone has had any luck successfully reinforcing industrial shelves. These ones are made of a plywood and have held up ok but I’ve been wanting to beef them up a bit. These are all 20 longs and are a little under the total weight limits for the shelving. Wasn’t sure if replacing the shelf material completely or attaching something stiffer was a good option. Would like to hear what’s worked for any of you. Thanks.

Trying to find a pair of tanks between 8-15 gallons with a footprint less than 18"x18".
