Hey everybody, my little brother is looking to keep a 5 1/2 gallon shrimp tank, and wants to keep a small fish that would do well with it (as a bit of a showpiece). Any suggestions?

In my 20 gallon high tank, there is a buildup on my aquarium heater. I'm just wondering what this is, and how I should go about cleaning it off?
