  1. I'm brand new, but I do have one ridiculously finicky betta that I've had for years. He'll eat Bug Bites or Xtreme pellets, and frozen brine shrimp. He also like the Hikari pellets when I fed those before I heard about Xtreme. He spits out dried or frozen blood worms and frozen mysis shrimp. There were other dried foods he hated before but it's been so long I can't remember. BTW, I tried hatching baby brine shrimp for him and he would just float there and watch them. I have no doubt they all ended up in the filter. LOLOL
  2. Ginger, thank you. While I’ve heard the same before, your comment gives me a little comfort I didn’t have before. we’re still new at this so finding all of this new stuff that we didn’t put there freaked me out! 😂😂😂 Thank you.
  3. Idk what that is, but as long as they can get into tank water once they make their way out. Idk what else is in your tank, but make sure fish can’t eat them and they have air and water and they should be fine. 🥰 Good luck!!
  4. That’s exactly how I was. yea, they look ready to me. i would check YouTube, Rachel O’Leary has a couple of great videos and shows you how to break them up. my new babies are about a week old now. 🥰🥰
  5. This is exactly how I talk about my Mystery Snails LOLOL Unfortunately, Zebras apparently don't get along with Betta and Yoyos need sand substrate. I'm batting a thousand with this mess!
  6. We're looking at those now. Of course that gives me the same challenge as the assassin snails, but it's a new option to consider. Thank you!
  7. Well, it's changed a bit in the last 36 hours but it still doesn't look like any picture or video I've seen of hydra so far. I've been more focused on my bladder snail infestation, to be honest. They're driving me batty, and it seems like every ten minutes there are more teeny tiny ones on my tank walls. We moved the baby Mysteries to the little tank, which can't last long. Maybe another week and I'll have to buy another tank for them if we don't resolve the 29's issues. So frustrated.
  8. I'm at a loss. I'll study them more tomorrow. Maybe try to get a better picture or even video. Thanks for your help!
  9. This is exactly what's keeping me from getting them. I'm not at all sure I want permanent assassin snails. I love my Mystery's. LOL
  10. Hahaha... Im sorry! Flora (plant) Fauna (animal)! 🙂 For future reference! (see reply to Garren!)
  11. I don['t think that's it. Those look stalky.. these are not stalky at all. Also, my husband looked them up and it said that when you touch them they kind of curl away, and he said it's not doing that. Is that picture magnified at all? These almost look like translucent white leaves with the stem end stuck to the tank wall.
  12. I have one ghost shrimp left in my 5-gallon and I started with 6. I still don't know if my betta got them or if they got into the filter or what. I love to watch them eat. It's really funny to watch him dart in and take a couple morsels when the Mystery Snails are feeding haha.
  13. I have no idea what that is! I'll try googling it, can you give me a way to narrow it down? Flora or fauna?
  14. It looks like it's on the glass.. one end stuck to the glass, the rest flows with the water.
  15. I'm having a bladder snail problem right now so I'm not very nice about pest snails right now. Hahaha I'm wandering around the house mumbling "Kill 'em all!!!!!" Mystery Snails have really interesting behaviors so they've stolen the spotlight in our tanks. Whatever you decide I hope you have better luck than you had with your first shrimp. I loved our ghost shrimp!
  16. I screwed up and bought plants from somewhere other than Aquarium Co-op and now I have bladder snails coming out of my ears. I'm really developing a nasty disposition toward them. I'm actually considering assassin snails, because we tried making the bottle traps to get them and my idiot betta got caught in it, BUT we also have mystery snails and I'm not sure I want to permanently have a snail that I can't put a Mystery Snail in with. Anyway, I hope you have better luck than we are. LOL
  17. I was actually shocked at how interesting and entertaining my Mystery Snails turned out to be. Just a thought because you didn't specifically mention snails. Good luck!
  18. right now I'm trying to learn how to hatch brine shrimp for my bettas. If anyone feels like passing along any wisdom, I'll happily take it! 🙂
  19. This graphic is amazing; thank you! I'll have to look them up to make sure they won't bother anything. If they're gonna eat my plants or foul something up they gotta go! Pond snails I've heard of, bladder snails, not so much!
