  1. Thank you. Yes, I've already treated them with the second dose on thursday, so I'm going to repeat it twice.
  2. Thank You very much for your help. Unfortunetely he passed away... 😞 I've dosed the esha ndx and then changed the water. He got much better after the treatment, he started swimming normally, and was very fine for two days, his belly started looking normal. I've fed him live glassworms (chaoborus larve) and frozen brine shrimp, he ate it. He tried to bury himself in the gravel, he tried to dig in. Then he entered between the decoration (rock) and the Anubias roots. He couldn't go out, cause his tail was stucked and torn... I've tried to help him by deataching Anubias carrefully. His tail didn't look that bad but I think it stressed him out completely... I've removed the decoration, and now Anubias is just floating in the water. It never happened to me before, none of my fish hid like this. I've repeated the treatment yesterday and blackout the tank. I was about to do a water change but I've noticed something weird. There are some white worms on the glass... I've read that it could be something called planaria, but I'm not sure. I perform regular water changes once a week, I'm using Aquael turbo 500 which aerates the aquarium with bubbles. And eSHa ndx haven't kill them... And now after I've turned on the lights, they've dissapeared.
  3. I've added eSHa ndx and black out the tank yesterday, when the medication arrived. Little guy is laying on the gravel for 2 days, he's moving on the ground. Sometimes he swims normally with other fish, but over time he does it less and less often. His belly is also way more sunken cause he doesn't eat... He doesn't swim up when I feed them. It's hard for me to give him up cause I don't know if fish in this condition has any chances or maybe it's just a torment for him. I tried to feed him, but I don't want to stress him out.
  4. As always, thank you for your advice! 🙂 I've just bought it, hope it will help him. Since I've recently used eSHa 2000, I should probably use active carbon to remove it from aquarium and do some water changes. 🙂
  5. Before I tried with ESHA 2000 I've also added salt 1,5 week ago - 1 table spoon for 5 gallons
  6. Hello, I've been experiencing some issues with one of my guppies. I've had my guppy fish tank since April 2023. One of my guppies has become thinner, and his poop has turned white, very long, and very thin. He has developed a bent spine, along with a loss in his tail. Appart from the spine, he swims rather normally. I suspect the loss in his tail is caused by one of my other guppies, which sometimes acts aggressively towards others by nipping at their tails. This guppy with symptoms has a good appetite but often spits out food; perhaps he's picky because he never spits out green pea or spirulina. I'm uploading pictures to show how he looked at the beginning and how he started to look about a week ago. Color differences in the photos are caused by lighting, and on the second picture, there is a stain on the aquarium glass (not on him). His eyes were always "hollow" like this; he's an albino. I've tried to treat him with ESHA 2000, (the smaller, reccommended, dose, 25 drops/26 gal, not 50 drops/26g) it's been 5 days and nothing changed, maybe it takes more time or maybe it's not the accurate medication. Although before that his belly was sunken, and now it's a little bit fuller (just a little). My parametres are: pH 7,5 Nitrates 15 Hardness 15 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0 KH/Buffer 10 Water Temperature 73,4 F Cl 0 13 gallons, 5 guppy guys Thank you for your answer in advance ❤️
  7. @Odd Duck I tried to find "PondX", but I can't. There is no information about it on the internet
  8. @Odd Duck I'm worried about fish TB too... Two fish (those with symptoms) died yesterday... 😞 So there are only two left without any signs of disease. But they are in the same tank, so I need to observe them for some time before adding any new fish. Don't you happen to know how long the TB is developing? I've found informations wich said that the time could be various. @Colu It all started when the temperature droped overnight from 78 to 71 degrees. I have a heater with thermostat but apparently something went wrong... The 2 fish started to isolate from the others and then swimming weirdly. The third one had bent spine since I got him, but about week ago he started to laying on the substrate, although ammonia and nitrite was 0 and nitrate was low.
  9. @Colu I've started with gdex. Ndx is not available now, but maybe it will be soon... So it might be scoliosis, even if he had a straight spine before?
  10. @Colu @Odd Duck @iwanttostayanonymous 92074 I'm sorry for @ you, but I'm really concerned... 😞 I hope I'm not being to pushy... The red fish died yesterday. The one with bent spine. 😞 I took some pictures of him, so maybe someone could help me to identify what happened with him, but I didn't notice anything abnormal exept being extra thin. (I've named him Blue (like sad), so the pictures are signed like that, sorry if it's confusing). I've also noticed, that the other sick fish, the white tuxedo has now bent spine too, and he had it straight before. I don't know if it's because of tuberculosis, or he's just weakened. He still leans to his side while swimming, but at least he's not rotating or swimming with head down like week ago. He floats in one place for most of the time. Exept him there are 2 fish in the aquarium, they don't have any symptoms I see.
  11. Thank you for your response! @Colu I've found esha gdex and ndx, it's available in my country, I'll give it a try. 🙂 @iwanttostayanonymous 92074 He was like this from beggining, but he's with me for 2 months. He's very skinny, although he has apetite, but since yesterday he stopped coming for food. He's not that colorful as always and started laying at the bottom for most of the time while his gils are moving fast... I've checked water parametres. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 15 nitrates. I'm putting the food in front of him, and he's jumping at it immediately. But I'm really affraid it could be TB... So sorry to hear that. 😞 I got attached to the black one despite the short time... @Odd DuckI was doing large water change because of using a medication (with trypaflavin's derivative) which I had to remove with active carbon and water change. Maybe it affected the beneficial bacteria since it's antibacterial. I vacuum gravel once a week, so it shouldn't be much mulm in the substrate.
  12. Hey, @Colu, thanks again for your advice 🙂 There are meds available that contains derivatives of levamisole and praziquentel but the producer doesn't declare concentrations etc. Only that you should put it in your tank and after 6 hours make 80% water change and then use active carbon. (I'm attaching the label of the praziquental derivative translated by google). Other meds like this aren't available in my country without prescription. 😞 I guess I could do something like @Odd Duck, but I'm not sure about leaving it more than 6 hours, so maybe instead of doing 24h I'll do 6h. Sera bactopur is available in my country so it should not be the problem. I only wonder about benefictial bacterias... Last time I did big water change I had enourmous nitrite spikes every day, and my fish suffered from it. Even though I've added a lot of bottled bacterias...
  13. [Warning, there are pics of a very sick guppy under the post] Hello, from some time I'm fighting with some disease that keeps making my fish sick and killing them... I don't know what it is. At first I thought it might be swim bladder disease, cause 2 of them kept swimming in circles and leaning to their side, or with their heads down. Their poops were long, white and very thin. They are unfortunetely from import. Probably from Asia and I'm from central Europe. But the other one has different symptoms. His poops are also white for 2 days and stringy. He also isolate from the others from time to time. But he swims "normal". He has a specific way of swimming, yes, but was like that since he came to my tank. When I bought him he had his spine like weirdly bent and it's still remaining like that. I was affraid it could've been TB? I have also video of him swimming, but I can't upload here, so I'm adding from wetranfer https://we.tl/t-PmG3zzTn01 I was using trypaflavine but it didn't change anything, now I'm thinking about using cure for parasites. I've also bathed them in methylene blue and malachite green before adding them to the aquarium. And I've added salt 2 weeks ago (which killed a lot of my plants). I'm uploading photos of my fish. The black one unfortunetely passed away about 2 weeks ago. 😥 I think before passing he went blind, because his eye turned white and was black before. I don't know if it means anything. My tank parameters: Gallons 13 pH 7,5 Nitrates 10 Hardness 15 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0 KH/Buffer 10 Water Temperature 78,8 F Cl 0
  14. @nabokovfan87 Yes, that's a very plain fitler, yet there was some free space in there so I've put 4 ceramic rings there. I know it ain't much, but for now it seem to work, cause the nitrites are going down.
  15. @CJs Aquatics @nabokovfan87 Thank you for your response. I thought it's enough for 1,2 inch guppy. 😞 I've set it up pretty fast... So my quarantine tank is 3 gallon, with only that one fish. I'm using Sunsun HJ-411B filter. I haven't bought him a heater, but he has a thermometer and the temperature doesn't change at all. It's 80 F all the time. It's completely new tank with bacterias added to it. I've wanted to seperate him from other fish. I've put lot of plants but it died due to trypaflavine I think... So now it's only few of them, but I've bought new plants today and I'm gonna add them. I've already did it, it's here: 2 days ago I've decided to try something different. I've stopped changing his water, because the nitrites was hitting 1,0-1,5 mg/l every 4 hours... I took some of my main tank's media and put it in the quarantine tank's filter. I also took some gravel and put it in QT. Lastly - I've put a lot of bottled bacterias directly on filter's sponge. It worked out. The next day nitrite was about 0,3. And after few hours 0,2. Now it's 0,025. But he doesn't look better yet. About the disease... Today I've heard from a guy in an aquaristic shop that it could be parasites, since the fish that passed away had white, long and thin poops and it looked like he lost his sight in one eye. Cause it turned light gray and was black before. And praziquantel was reccomended to me. Also they told me to put it in the main tank and after 5 hours change 80% of water, but I'm a little scared to do it in the main tank, as it could completely destroy the cycle. But the other fish can be infected too... Also, my fish were from import. There is only one shop in my city that doesn't import guppies (I was there today, and the guy told me about parasites). Most of them are from Asia and I live in Europe so they are not used to european bacterias...
  16. @CJs Aquatics thanks for the answer! I clean my fish's poops regularly. I'm also using Seachem Prime, so it should detoxify the chemicals. And I'm adding bacterias with every water change. I'm even using filter with media from my main, cycled tank. Also there are live plants. 😞 I'm affraid he won't get better with this ammount of nitrites, as it affects his condition (swim bladder disease)... Today at 6 am nitrites were very high again, although I've changed water (about 40-50%) at midnight. I'm affraid of moving him back in the main tank, cause if SBD was bacterial/parasitic then he could spread it on the other fish... He's sitting in the quarantine tank for almost 2 weeks now.
  17. Hello. Recently, my guppies got swim bladder disease, and unfortunately, one of them passed away... The other one was moved to a 3-gallon quarantine tank since I couldn't figure out if it's bacterial, parasitic, or physical damage. After about a week of treatment with trypaflavine and aquarium salt, it got way better. But one day, I woke up and saw him swimming with his head down or leaning to his side. He's also very lethargic... I've tested water parameters and found out nitrites were very high - at least 1.5 mg/l (the test I got only allows measuring nitrites up to 1.5 mg/l). I proceeded with a 50% water change, and it dropped to 0.3 mg/l. The next day, nitrites increased again. I performed 2 water changes, the second at 12 am, and it was 0.1 mg/l. When I woke up after 7 hours, it was 1.5 mg/l again... And then after 6 hours nitrites spike again - I had to change it again... I'm also testing ammonia, but the test doesn't detect them. I feed my fish once a day with a small amount of green pea, spirulina, blood worms, or sometimes flakes soaked in vitamins. There is salt in the aquarium, so I thought it should detoxify the nitrite, but it doesn't happen... My quarantine tank parameters: pH 7,8 Nitrates 0 Hardness 15 Nitrite 1,5 mg/l Ammonia 0 KH/Buffer 10 Water Temperature 27 Cl 0 My pH might be too high, but it's because of using tap water (with seachem prime). Thank you for your answers in advance.
  18. The other sick fish was getting much better, he was swimming normally but then he suddenly got worse. He swims with head down (although not so often), leaning to his side, lying at the bottom. I tested the water in quarantine tank and find out that nitrites were at lvl 1,5 mg/l. I've changed 50% of the water, added aquarium salt with aloe vera, and nitrite was at lvl 0,2. The next day it was 1,0 - after about 14 hours... I've changed the water again - 40%, and it's 0,025. I'm feeding this fish once a day with very small ammount of food - green pea, spirulina, blood worms sometimes flakes soaked in vitamins. His tank has 3 gallons. There is aquarium salt, which should detoxify nitrite. Ammonia is at lvl 0, there are plants in his tank. Could nitrite spike influence his swim bladder?
  19. @Goosedub I feed them green peas and blood worms once a week. They are getting fish flakes everyday, cause I've heard that fish flakes are balanced nowadays... But now I'm definetely going to diversify their diet. Unfortunetely the black one passed away yesterday... 😞 We're fighting for the other one. We put him in a quarantine tank with aquarium salt and trypaflavine. The other fish in the main tank looks fine, but we also put the medication and salt in there.
  20. @Colu, thank you, I'll give it a chance. I've found out that this medication I used contains trypaflavin derivatives. I hope it won't react with aquarium salt.
  21. @Colu, thank you very much for your response! Unfortunately, there is nothing like this available in my area or in online shops that can deliver it to me quicker than in 20-30 working days... 😞 I could only use some aquarium/epsom salt. I've also read that this one can be treated with methylene blue, which is available in shops near me, but I need to do more research, cause I'm not sure if I could use it in that case and I don't want to risk.
  22. Hello everyone, I'm having issue with my guppies... I think some of them have developed swim bladder disease. One of them is in very poor condition. It started with hiding behind the filter, then he started to swim on his side near the surface. Now he's barely moving and lying near the surface on his side. I've also noticed that the ends of his fins have reddish stain. They are frayed, but they were like this from the beginning, and they started to heal after putting him in my aquarium. It seems to me that one of his eyes has turned white, but maybe it was like this from the beginning..? The other one swims very strangely, like he is drunk, leaning to the sides. But his poop looks pretty normal. Unlike the first one, it's very thin, long, and transparent (you can see it in the photo). My shop recommended me using Tropical Healthosan. I've put it in the aquarium because if this is a parasite, then probably others have it too. I don't think it could be due to mechanical damage. About overfeeding - I'm giving them 3 medium flakes twice a day (there are 5 of them in the aquarium). Also, I don't think that one of the guppies would do that to the others. I'm uploading some pictures of the first guppy. He looks very poor, and I don't know how to help him... 😢 He has been lying like this for two days now. My parameters: Ammonnia: 0NO2: 0,05 [EDITED]NO3: haven't measured it yetdGH: 9,5 dKH: 10 PH: 7,2Temperature: 77 F / 25 C Here is the description of the medication I gave them. I don't know what's inside it. I did the first one in the main tank - 10ml/100 liters. "HEALTHOSAN fish health care product. An aquarium preparation with a wide range of applications. It effectively protects fish against dangerous pathogens such as bacteria, protozoa, and fungi. It accelerates the regeneration of damaged epidermis and tattered fins. It effectively protects eggs and fry of delicate species of fish. The light contributes to the decomposition of the active substance, hence it should be turned off during the treatment. The preparation may damage delicate aquatic plants. Dosage: In common tanks - 10 ml/100 liters of water. Bath in a separate tank without substrate: long-term bath (6-14 days) - 10 ml/50 liters of water, short-term bath (2-12 hours) - 10 ml/10 liters of water. Together with this preparation, we recommend: CocoCarb, Carbolit." https://tropical.pl/tropical/product/HEALTHOSAN Thank you for your for your advices in advance.
  23. @xXInkedPhoenixX Thank you, I'm gonna do it 🙂 Yes, I'm also using Seachem Prime 😄
  24. Hey @xXInkedPhoenixX, thank you very much for your answer! They hardly ever do that, but they do. I have my aquarium close to my working space so I could watch them all day, and once a day/few days I see one og them rubbing few times in a very short time and then they stop. I filmed them for like 30 minutes but none of them did that in that time. But I've found something on youtube. It's bouncing and rubbing, like at the begining of this video. Like something itches them, especially from the bottom, but sometimes they scratches their sides. I looked at their gills but their colours seems normal. They're not pink or red. I will do fish-in cycle, after reading about it. I do water changes once a week, now I see, that the ammonia is at level 0,02 ppm so it's time for water changes or should I let the bacterias work a little bit and wait for Nitrate to increase?
  25. Hello, I've started my aquarium about 2 months ago, I've waited for 1 week before I've moved in 5 small snails. 2 weeks later (3 weeks old tank) I've moved in 5 male guppies (from 2 shops) and after few days I've noticed that all my fish bouncing off plants and sometimes substrate... My local fish shop recommended me ich treatment and increasing temperature a little bit. I've bought a medication (with methylene blue) that was reccommended to me in the shop and I've read many positive reviews about it. I've used the med. according to the instruction - I've used one dose of medication and after one week I did water change and then dosed a portion of it again. It took us 2 weeks but it didn't help. (After all, I've used active carbon to clean the chemicals (according to the medication instruction).) I've also noticed that none of them developped those specific white dots (not even one stain) and nothing changed about their apperence/behaviour. They even develloped brighter colors and their gills also look fine. Guys have really good appetite, they are mobile and get along together - they like playing in a group. They sleep on the substrate or floats in the water. Their poops also look right, I guess (dark, not white or stringy). It's been a month after noticing these bouncing behaviour and I don't know what it is. Could it be that my tank isn't fully cycled yet? Because of ich treatment I'm affraid I might have killed beneficial bacterias. Is it stress? Or chemicals from the tap water? I'm using water conditioner (Seachem prime) and nitrate bacteria (Seachem stability or Neo V) and vitamins. I'm also mixing tap water with destiled water for aquariums. Few words about my tank and conditions: 12 gallon tank, 5 male guppies, 5 snails. Tank is about 2 months old. Ammonnia: 0 NO2: 0 NO3: haven't measured it yet dGH: 9,5 dKH: 10 PH: 7,4 Temperature: 75 F / 24 C I'm sorry for possible grammar mistakes, I don't use english very often. 🙂
