  1. No mysterys in the tank, just pest snails and I doubt what I showed in the pics are snail eggs, the fish had it in its mouth like it was trying to get it out instead of eating it. It looked like it was choking or something...
  2. How do you know? Ive never seen snail eggs like that
  3. Today I saw one of my guppy fry on the surface and it had like a ball coming out of her mouth, so I took her out of the tank and removed this ball looking thing and it looks like eggs but I dont know if it could be parasites?... Has anyone else seen this before?
  4. Interesting, really dont know what it is, I keep researching every day while I wait for levamisole to arrive.
  5. In these pics you can see, the female with orange fins is really skinny, and in the other pic you can see a fat healty (probably pregnant) female right next to another one that is not so good, like I said, I feel like there is still time to save them, but its been a hard time for me to see them like this 😞
  6. Follow up on this, I treated them with fritz para cleanse but it didnt do anything. I went ahead and bought levamisole and I will try that next. If that doesnt work I will set up a quarantine tank and try using salt like cory recommended, the babies are doing alright, some are growing fast but some arent, 3 of my females are still skinny but they try to keep up since I feed them frequently to keep them "healty" since they have parasites. I hope they get better with levamisole and I hope I dont mess it up with the dosing, I will update soon, and btw one of my females also had this white thing on her anus and then it retracted as the day went by, Im guessing its a stronger type of parasite and thats why Im trying levamisole next. Thanks for the replies and if anyone else has had experience with stuff like this please let me know, Im more than happy and open to ideas and recommendations.
  7. I dont have a quarantine tank, the skin looks fine, it might be the camera quality, Ill be looking out for it and if it stays like that for another couple of days I will buy some salt and get a quarantine tank thanks cory!!
  8. Nitrate 0, nitrite 0, GH 300ppm+ KH 120-180 ppm, pH looks like 7.8 to 8.4 The only reason I havent used salt or anything its because I also keep shrimp and a lot of snails, but I have seachem equilibrium, I dont know if that would work the same way.... does salt affect shrimp and snails?
  9. So Ive noticed one of my guppy fry has this thing coming out of his anus and I dont know what it is. I treated the tank with fritz para cleanse because some of my females have wasting disease but they dont really seem to be doing bettee after about a week after treatment. Here is the picture of the fry, if anyone could help me identify what it is I would appreciate it a lot :) (by the way all the pictures are the same fish, just really hard to catch on camera)
  10. one more thing, do u know if this medication will harm shrimp and snails? because if it doesnt I would like to dose it in my tank without having to move fish to a separate tank since I currently dont have one
  11. thank you, I will look into it and probably start moving fish out of the tank to treat them and hopefully it will work. Thank you so much!!!
  12. Its been a few weeks but here it goes. So I have a 10 gallon with pretty much guppies snails and shrimp, heavily planted btw. I have noticed that one female gave birth, then got really skinny and barely eats, swims little and she looks like she will die any time, then another female gave birth and the same thing happened, not eating almost anything, not swimming a lot, and THEN another one gave birth and same thing, shes starting to get skinny and rejects food, I feed a a variety of foods from xtreme flakes to hikari first bites, frozen blood worms, hikari brine shrimp etc, but they dont eat almost anything and Its so sad it looks like theyre gonna die. I dont know what to do and I have read a lot. I know it could be worms but im not really sure. Parameters are PH 7.2- 7.5 water is hard because I remineralize RO with equilibrium and alkaline buffer nitrates and nitrites 0 ammonnia 0 chlorine 0 so everything looks right... What can I do? It seems to be only the females 😞
  13. Mmm I have 3 rocks that I dont know the name, they look kind of grey/blueish and some driftwood, and I bought these at my lfs so they are aquarium safe. One cattapa leave in there that I bough from aquarium coop and the rest are all plants... like I said, GH comes out at around 60 - 80 ppm, and KH is 0 because I remineralize RO water with salty shrimp GH+ since the tanks are supposed to be for caridina shrimp. Thats one, the other one has no decor at all, just plants and its the same thing.
  14. So I have set up two tanks, one 10 gal and another 5gal... I used fluval stratum in both, because the goal was to have crystal shrimp, been using RO water remineralized with salty GH, so the water comes out pretty soft, with a ph of 6.6 - 6.7 and a TDS of 130, KH 0 and no nitrates or nitrites, its RO water of course... The problem comes when I add such water to the tank, its been about a week since I havent done a water change, but the ph keeps going up to 7.8 - 8 instead of dropping to 6.6 - 6.8 like it should, because thats what fluval stratum is supposed to do right?... I have also tried using a PH liquid from seachem that drops ph and it works for like 10 minutes, but then pH goes straight up again... I have no Idea what Im doing wrong and why Ph is not coming down like it should... Again, a little more than 2 months since the tanks were set up so I dont think the substrate is already exhausted, is this normal?? Oh and the water keeps getting cloudy and it just doesnt go away after so long.
