  1. I only feed once a day but fairly heavily to compensate. I onyl feed them small amounts at a time and monitor them to make sure they are all eating.
  2. Thanks for the help everyone, checked on the cyst today and it looks like it's gone down which I'm hoping is a good sign but I'll monitor it and probably keep treating with salt if it gets worse. I feed them every day once a day and make sure they eat but it may be a possibility that they ate the other one. The water parameters and they are all good (ammonia -0ppm, nitrites - 0.25ppm and nitrates 10ppm).
  3. Hi all, The tank is roughly 10 gallons (42 litres) and planted, I've got 4 female guppy's, 3 leopard Danios (was 4), 1 baby pleco and some (6) guppy fry. I treated the tank for fin for with aquarium salt roughly 2 weeks ago, I've done 2 30% weekly water changes since dosing. The fish all look healthy and aren't showing any signs of fin rot anymore and look all healed up. I did the second water change on Thursday and then Friday evening I noticed one of my Danios had died, his belly was open and looked as though it had ruptured. I checked the fish after the water change and watched them eat, they all looked healthy (including the danio that died and there were no signs of dropsy or a large stomach so no indication of what caused this death). I checked the water parameters and they are all good (ammonia -0ppm, nitrites - 0.25ppm and nitrates 10ppm). Today, when feeding the fish I noticed one of the Danios had what looked like a cyst/blister on its lip that appeared out of no where. None of the other fish are showing any indication of this ( I've included images to help). Sorry if the images aren't very clear, this is the best I could do with the danio they're so quick! Does anyone know what could have caused this and how I should treat it? Also should I isolate the danio or treat the whole tank? Thank you 🙂 Arthur
  4. Thanks James, I really appreciate the help. I currently have a spare tank going through a cycle as we speak, I just need to get an aquarium heater for it. What type of aquarium salt would you recommend? I live in the UK so the brand's aren't the same as the US, would any reef aquarium salt do the trick?
  5. Hey, I hope I can get some help before it's too late! I've had my guppy for a month or two now, he's been living in a 20 gallon tank with four females, 4 leopard Danios and a bristle nose pleco. Sunday night he was doing fine but I noticed yesterday that he was laying at the bottom of the tank. he's still swimming occasionally but not very often and he is struggling to swim a bit. He's also still eating which is a good sign but I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with him. The other fish are doing great in the tank with no issues. The pH is around 7.6, ammonia level is 0ppm, nitrites between 0-0.25ppm and nitrates are around 20ppm-40ppm. The tank is a planted aquarium with live plants. I did a water change and put him into a breeder box to keep him a little more secure and so that I could monitor him a little easier. I have noticed his pectoral fins have lost a bit of their colour, I'm thinking potentially fin for but I'm not 100% sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated? Thank you 🙂
  6. Thank you Jimmy, I thought they would be okay as I've seen Danios being kept with other types but never Hikaris, I didn't know they existed until I saw the aquarium Co-op video on Monday which sparked my curiosity. If I do manage to get some I will definitely make sure they get their share! 🙂
  7. Hi all, I've got a 42 gallon / 160 litre fish tank, I currently have 5 leopard Danios, 6 gouramis (3 opaline and 3 honey), 3 Angels, 2 clown loaches, a red tailed shark and 6 African dwarf frogs, they all get along great with no issues. I saw the Hikari Danios and loved the colours, I wanted to know whether they would live comfortably with the fish in my tank? Thank you :) Arthur
