  1. I just wanted to chime in and let you know that you’re not alone with the panda woes. About a decade ago I got my first batch of panda corys and they were bullet proof and bred quite a bit in my community tank. About a year ago I got a new tank and decided I had more space for a larger group of them. I bought some pandas from multiple places, local and online, and none survived very long. Some didn’t make it through QT, others slowly stopped eating and would die after making it through QT and into my main tank. It was quiet frustrating since my original pandas were thriving the whole time. I’ve since stopped trying to add new pandas and have been encouraging the others to breed to increase my group. One interesting thing idea I came across going through this last year, was that many pandas probably are just too overbred/inbred and overuse of antibiotics at fish farms overseas. Hopefully your guys make it through the meds. Good luck!
  2. It doesn’t really look like columnaris (that’s good) to me. From experience, columnaris progresses fast and kills most fish within a few days. The best way I can describe it is the lessons/patches make it look like the skin is dissolving from the inside out. It’s also a gram negative bacteria so you wouldn’t have much success treating with erythromycin (gram positive). Hopefully someone can help diagnose with the pics.
  3. Sorry that you’re having a rough go at it. When I was dealing columnaris, I didn’t have access to Kanaplex in a timely manner. So I went with two rounds of Maracyn 2 (minocyline) which cleared up the less sick fish. I did a third round of Maracyn 2 and Furan-2 in a QT for the worse off fish which seemed to do the trick. It’s tough since even the surviving fish will look pretty rough. Many of mine survived and are still around but an equal amount didn’t make it or died months later. I hope it works out for you.
  4. I’ve been doing it this way for decades and no problems here. 🤙
  5. I've had two for over a year now and love how quiet they are. About a month ago, one of them stopped working intermittently and needed a good whack on a hard surface to start back up. The other one has been working fine so far. The "broken" one usually stopped after hanging from the carabiner for a few hours. I decided to see if laying it down made a difference. Oddly enough, it hasn't turned off for over two weeks in that position....🤞
