  1. Boy yall make me feel retarded lol. Thanks to all that helped. I ended up buying a digital scale and measured out one spoonfull than divided from there to get an accurate amount. Hopefully it helps. I wouldnt worry to much but these Shrimp were very expensive at $25/ shrimp and Ive read the planeria is ruff on the baby shrimp
  2. Mix a full dose in a single cup of water? How would I than dumb it down?
  3. No planeria for my tank. Ive got a fluval ebt 2.6 gallon shrimp tank and im trying to do the math with little success. Directions says one spoon full for 50 litres/13 gallons. How the heck do I figure out how much to use for 2.6G? Normally im good at this but this time its got me flustered HELP. I also thought maybe I could mix 13 gallons of water and than add by doing a 50%water change with the 13 gallons of the premixed
  4. I love my caridina tanks, I currently have 8, 3 gallon tanks and one 32g
  5. Do you have or pla. to use RODI water? What kinda mineral booster? And the reason they say its better to have an established tank is because of the biofilm. I have put a tank up using a sponge filter from an established Tank and ha e been successful. I use Salty shrimp GH booster. With Caridina your gunna want a TDS pen for preparing water parameters
  6. How long are they? Think I may have the same in my Taiwan bee tank. They may be Planaria and if so Ive heard Cory say 100 times cut down the feeding and if your really concerned throw in a few guppies and they will wipe it clean.
  7. My water parameters are as follow GH 6 KH 0-3 normally 1 PH 6.0 Temp- 70* Nitrate is 10-20 ppm Nitrite and ammonia 0ppm
  8. Hey all Ive got a question for all my fishtastical friends. I have an extremely heavily planted fluval flex 32g its literally a jungle. I purposely did this for a specific Shrimp known as the caridina species all Taiwan bee's. I also have 15 or 20 amano shrimp. Ive literally put about 100 to 150 CBS and CRS in the aquarium. Also I have 2 king tiger plecos. My water has always been spot on with weekly 8% water change (5g) Anyhow I've noticed over the past 3 months my Taiwan bees are disappearing and im not seeing any dead bodys anywhere. My question is has anyone ever had amanos eat other shrimp? They are set on an auto feeder thats a mixture of Bacteria AE, Shrimp fit and Regular crustacean foods. Not sure whats happened but I cant find any of them.
  9. For my Salty Shrimp GH booster I shoot for a TDS of 75 which is usually a GH of 5* to 7*. When you buy that specific brand it comes with a little measuring spoon. To achieve my desired TDS is about a 1/4 spoon. And that is for my Caridina species. Now my Neocaridina I use the Salty Shrimp GH KH booster and I try to get the TDS as close to a TDS of 200 +/- 20 Sorry and that is using RODI and 5 gallon colligan jugs
  10. Hey all I"ve looking for a particular Caridina shrimp PRL bred from a master breeder Named Miss Ellen Wang. I'd bought 5 off of aquabid a year ago and am looking to buy more but cant seem to find anyone who has them. I tried to find the sellers name off of aqua bid but haven't been successful I thought I'd put the word out here if anyone knows where I could find them that would be great. Thanks in advance
  11. One thing I think we all can agree on is the price of everything has went up but the durability has went down like everything else. If it was me and I was setting up a 10g betta tank I would most definitely go with a small air pump and small sponge. The pro's to having a sponge filter way out way the con of a noisy aerator. If mounted correctly the aerator is quiet as a mouse. I dont know about anyone else nothing drives me crazy like the sound of trickling water from a HOB. But it also helps people with their husbandry. The louder the sound the more water that needs to be attended to or replaced. I personally cant afford to replace the filter every couple weeks of a HOB. If I didnt have a heavily stocked tank I would run nothing but sponge but seeing how I have way to many fish in my 75G I change 50% of the water every week and run multiple filters plus have a heavily planted tank. To each is their own tho. No matter how you run your setup i'm glad your back in the hobby and part of the Nerm fam! Hope everyone has the most very best day!!
  12. only Stuff I've used is the Salty shrimp GH booster or the Salty shrimp gh kh booster and it seems to dissolve fairly quickly for me. I add it to my jugs' than add the water.
  13. I found that it depends on the puffers size. My juvenile Fahaka puffer cann only eat what he can fit in his mouth other than that he just kinda bites at the shell with little luck getting any substance. Right now Im feeding rams horns snails until hes big enough for mystery snails or clams
  14. Usually a good supplier can add heat packs if needed. They will know if its safe to ship. Id just reach out to them and they will tell you. If it was that big of deal they would only ship during summer months but thats not the case
  15. Have you just tried salt? I know Cory always talks about how its works on so many diff things
  16. That could look really neat with some neo's in it?
  17. I almost wonder if its not some kind of infection caused from hitting his/her little nose on something or maybe a cist. Have you tried using salt? The salt may not be good on the plants so if it was me and this is just my opinion I would pull some tank water and put the betta in gallon jug and add salt. For how long i'm sure but I'm sure someone on here could say. sorry that was supposed to say for how long i'm not sure @Guppysnailany ideas?
  18. extreme growth!! If i'm not mistaken thats exactly what you want in a planted tank. That's all your minerals and whatnot the plants thrive on. I think you will be fine. Me personally I use RODI water and remineralize to my liking
  19. Tell them what they've won Johnny!! You get a PH of 8.222222222. Sorry It just popped in my head but sounded way funnier in my head than it does on the forum but i'm gunna leave it lol
  20. I would get some neo's from flip aquatic I've found neo's to be pretty hardy. When I first got into shrimp keeping the internet had me terrified.. I just kept reading how you had to be super particular with your water parameters and me being me I love a good challenge have come to find thats its the complete opposite. Flip aquatics on YouTube or marks shrimp tanks. and even Aquarium Co-op has a few videos on shrimp. Hope this helps.
  21. I added crushed coral by takig a plastic tube and using it like a funnel and I was able to accurately lay the coral exactly where I wanted it. I had an old 24"siphon tube that I'd disassembled and just used the tube. So many people on here hate sand but yet you see people like LRB Lucas Bretts and he straight kills it with nothing but sand. I personally tried using just sand and it wasnt working, I fought it for a year and couldnt get anything to really grow very well so I switched over to Stratum and everything changed. My 12year old son wanted the sand in his tank so I took the sand straight from mine and added about a 2" layer to his and I"ll be damned his tank took off!! I have what we call a high tech tank with high light and co2 but his is just a hygger light with sand and no ferts at all and his tank is booming wih life. I dont understand it. But remember when I was trying to use it I had just sand you have eco complete under it. If I was you I"d go for it. I personally thing that white sand with a black background is FIREEEEE
  22. I use crush coral to help with my GH. My water comes into mu house directly into our water softener so I actually run it from there through an RODI unit than remineralize. with. GH KH booster. I use the crush coral just cause it seems to have lots of benifits of having it. Yes more challenging plants Sorry My fish stocking is 6 angles and 6 corys and a bristle nose plecos
  23. withHey fellow Nerms Aqua Junky here in need of some advice. Im wanting to tear down one of my 75G tank with an FX4 and a Co-op prefilter. Fluval Stratum topped with crush coral. Fluval 3.0 light and Pressurized c02. Multiple air stones. I want to redo plant stocking. This was my first attempt at a planted tank and it has a variety of high light low light plants pretty much anything I thought looked cool I threw in the tank. Now being in the hobby for a couple years now I wanna do more. I wanna fill this tank with plants more suitable for my setup. Any advice on plants. Id like to stick with the Co-op for plant purchase they have always been good to me. HELPPPP!!!
