I have a 300+ gallon reef tank. Let me tell ya… It has been fun, frustrating and extremely expensive!!! I don’t even want to know how much money I have invested in this tank and lost. Not to forget about the amount of maintenance.
It was a freshwater tank before stocked with Oscars, Catfish and arrowana etc.
I am thinking about making it into a freshwater planted tank with community fish.
has anyone done anything like this? If so what did you do to convert to Freshwater?
We are going with Monster fish. We got the tank because we bought a 125 that came with monster fish that are Going to outgrow it very very soon.
This tank is huge! It will be the focal point of our home.
Yesterday we did ANOTHER thing…. A 300 gallon tank!
This is the 4th big tank in our living room.
We agreed to upgrade size and downgrade quantity. We will be selling 3 of the other tanks and getting a 180 and a 40 breeder.
that will leave us with 2 big tanks and 1 average tank.
I ended up taking most of the moss out because we are having to move tanks around…. Again🤦♀️ but this will be the final time of moving anything!!!
I will try the moss thing again once everything is dialed in again.
I dont worry to much about ppm or tds. I am on a well and my ppm is way above most..... like in the 1,000. I have multiple tanks with multiple different types of fish from beta all the way to arowana. Just as long as your parameters are within normal range it should all be fine.
It is starting to die back. I’m going to let it do it’s thing and see what happens.
If it comes back without to much issues, this is going to solve a lot of moss issues for those that can’t get any. Lol
I have an abundance of moss on my property. I was offered $80 for a moss covered limb. I did not sell it.
There is very little information about tree moss in fish aquariums. Well, my brother in law has had huge success with it in his shrimp tanks. I’m now trying it in my fish tanks.
It will be a community tanks. 2 blood parrot, 5 rainbows, 5 mollies, 3 giant danios(will be adding a few more), 1 cat fish(can’t remember the name of it), and 4 yo-yo.
My 140 gallon tank! I will be using Diamond Black Blasting Sand, river rock, driftwood and plants.
Who else has a long narrow tall tank? I would like to see your scape ideas please.
