  1. I've got 7 different regulators with a total of 19 bubble counters on them and have used nothing but mineral oil in them for going on 9-10 yrs and have never had a problem with the mineral oil migrating up the line towards the check valves, ever!! Not even sure how that would be possible unless I cranked the regulator up and turned the needle valve wide open! I can see it happening if some knucklehead filled the bubble counter way to full with mineral oil to where the bubbles had nowhere to POP and so the oil was forced up into the line. If you leave the proper "head" space in the bubble counter vile, like I said, I don't see how it would be possible for the oil to migrate up into the line.
