I'm considering a Plecostomus to clean it up, but the tank is already a bit crowded. medication is off the table for me, any ideas? its all over my scarlet temples and dwarf hairgrass.

I’m looking to get a 40 gallon breeder for a first tank, and I was thinking of a Philippine blue angelfish with a school of cardinal tetras in a planted tank, I was curious as to the amount of cardinal tetras I should keep in a school for this tank.

I’m looking for people’s opinions on a good filter, I want to have an aquarium co-op sponge filter. It is a very heavily aquarium with floating plants, snails, and large amounts of carpeting and background plants like valisnera. The fish don’t have a huge bio load, only a small/medium school of neon tetras, along with a single angelfish. But I have been told that sponge filters are useless by some people, and heralded as a godsend by others. I don’t know much, would love opinions on this.

So I recently asked if I could stock a red fin shark with an angelfish, and now I was wondering if I would be overstocking my 40 gallon with a small school of neon tetras added to the mix. I know they won't get eaten, but I just want to make sure I'm not overstocking the tank.
