  1. I found some very very tiny anubias nana petite while doing a water change I currently have them in a jar. They are so small that I am nervous about trying to plant them because I'm worried they will float up again and I'll lose them. How can I grow them out in a jar so that they have enough size to them that I can actually plant them? They are about 3-4mm in size.
  2. That's fair but I'm nervous of putting livestock in such a new tank. I'm sure critters would love it but I'm not sticking them in there. I was sorely tempted to put a snail of some kind in there, either nerite or mystery snail. Just to clean stuff up but I really don't want to deal with snails again.
  3. I just realized this is probably the betta pellets that I've been using to cycle the tank. I will leave this up for reference for any other beginners.
  4. I just started a 20gallon a week ago with a new light. Had a hair algae bloom so I did a black out for two days, Turn on the light to see these. I'm using my old filter from my last tank and those balls and the algae are predominantly on that side of the tank. My plants are looking super rough but I figured that was from switching to remineralized RO water.
  5. I couldn't resist it, I found the perfect ochostone that i think I'm gonna take the anbias off of once they grow out some. I couldn't resist it, I found the perfect ochostone that i think I'm gonna take the anbias off of once they grow out some.
  6. I miss him a lot. Thank you! I've been learning so much reading here and listening to Cory's podcast.
  7. hi I've been keeping fish for about 3 years now along with a lot of learning curves. My first three fish were a Dumbo betta, a crown tail betta, and an alien blue that did horribly because the tank was not cycled after the crowntail died. I got inspired by iwagumi and Dutch planet tanks even though I don't have the skill to make aquascapes that pretty. So I tried to focus on making sure my livestock is comfortable and adjust the tanks composition based on where they like to hang out. This is the new 20 gallon. The plants from the old tank are melting because they're not used to remineralized RO water. My tap water is liquid rock and my fish did not like it. it looks super ugly right now if anyone has any tips for composition I'd appreciate it. These are my first two tanks that I sourced all my plants from. java fern also took over everything in the tank because I got depressed. Bonus picture of the first betta I owned. He lived for about 3 years and started going blind.
