Gravel is about two to two and a half inches deep could it not be deep enough?

not currently, I have lots of mulm in the gravel though.

I have had two crypt wendeti green for two years both have gotten huge but have never sent out runners to my knowledge. I have a pea gravel substrate in my 55 gallon tank. Any tips on how to get your crypt to shoot runners?

Newest fish I have put in was a ballon Molly I got about 2 months ago was also the last fish I’ve had die (I found it dead today but it had been acting weird for the last two days) no sunken belly fish. I use a sponge filter. As for the rapid breathing I don’t think it is. It’s not breathing or flaring its mouth more than the others. I don’t think it’s gasping. I never saw the ballon Molly gasping either it was rather kinda floating at the top barely responding to me putting my hand in the water or resting on a leaf or bottom with its nose pointed up

Maybe it is bloated now that I’m looking at my other cardinals it does look a little plumper. Not much just a little bit.

The cardinal tetra is trying not to stay floating at the top almost like it’s a swim bladder issue but it dosnt look bloated Like it can’t help but not float. I see it swimming towards the bottom but it just floats right back up as soon as it stops swimming

The balloon Molly I got a few months ago and the cardinal I have had for a year and a half. Ammonia was 0ppm

The other day I noticed one of my fish either sitting at the bottom or top. It was just the one. Now two days later it’s dead and one more fish is bobbing at the top still alive. None of the other fish are doing that tho. Doing a 50% water change right now. Water perimeters before water change where 10ppm nitrate 0 nitrite 150 hardness, 80-120 kh, 7.6 ph, 0 chlorine. The first fish that Dora’s was a balloon Mollie and the one floating now is a cardinal tetra. Tetra is being very lethargic barely responding to anything. Any help for possible diagnosis or solutions would be appreciated also water temp 80f.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a new sponge filter placed in an established tank to grow enough beneficial bacteria to be placed in a new tank?

yes its an Aqueon 55gal tank with a seperator bar in the middle so would that mean I need to get two 24inch tops?

Any good glass topper brands to look for or are most the same. Just got a 55gal and want a top to help keep heat.

So do you think it would be best just to watch and see if it will go down? or should I continue with the 25% water changes daily.

Yesterday I added some plants in pots with a root tab in the rock wool to an established tank, but today I tested the water and found 1ppm of nitrite could this be because I added too many plants with root tabs all at once? I have done a 25% water change. what are some other things I could do. I added 10 plants with root tabs to a 20gal long.

I have just gotten some new plants for a new tank I'm about to start, But I ordered them early because the plant I wanted went out of stock and once it was back in stock I got it. I do not Have the new tank just yet (I should have it in at least a week). I have the new plants currently in an already established tank in the pots with rock wool and a root tab in the rock wool. I was wanting some feed back to see if that is a good way to store the plants till I can get them into their own tank. the plants I bought include water sprite, some crypts, A queen sword, scarlet temple, and monte carlo. Any impute would be appreciated. Thank you.
