  1. Thanks @Cinnebuns @rockfisher and @Guppysnail for your feedback. It very well could be feeding, I do not feed the tank as often as you'd mentioned. I do feed a fairly high protein food as well as a bottom feeder tablet, but the quantity and frequency could be the issue. As for additives to the tank, I've only ever added Prime as a conditioner and Easy Green as a fertilizer for the plant growth. I will try to up the feedings and get 1 more to try my luck. Otherwise I'm not sure what I'll do.
  2. They just kind of swim/float around the water column and then stick to the sides of the tank or to the plants. Don't seem to be bothering the shrimp or baby shrimp at all. I don't have any fish in the tank for safety reasons, but these little buggers are everywhere. Hundreds. I have had one mystery snail thrive in my second breeder tank, but the two I have tried with the blues obviously haven't. I've thought about trying ramshorn snails, but unfortunately my LFS doesn't carry them.
  3. So this has been going on for 7ish months? Yeah, that's a tough one. It definitely seems to be excess nutrients to me, but I'm certainly no expert. As a matter of fact, my next project was looking to be shell dwellers as well. I'll keep checking in to see if anything changes. Good luck!
  4. Hi @Gannon. What kind of sand are you using? And how long as the tank been set up? My old freshwater setup used pool filter sand and it did this for about 4 months, but it cleared on its own.
  5. Hi Co-op forum. I have a question and I was wondering if you could help me. I am currently breeding shrimp and trying to use a mystery snail to keep up the beneficial bacteria up in the tank. My only issue is, I've added 2 different snails to the tank and they've both died within a week of putting them in. Water parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and about 15 for nitrate. Ph is around 7.4. I think it might be these mites might be the ones killing them, but I'm not sure. Do you have any ideas? I'm including a picture and gif for reference. They are small so very hard for the camera to focus on them. Thanks!
