  1. They should be teaching this in science classes!!!
  2. I saw the first one do it. It doesn't look like anything to worry about. but just to be sure what are yourwater parameters?
  3. I have put plants in my tanks way before they cyceld. So yes I would reccomend to get plants.
  4. I'm sure these would do the trick https://www.amazon.ca/MacGregor-GCSC12RD-Safety-Guard-Scooters/dp/B0000AOEN4/ref=asc_df_B0000AOEN4/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=293011336981&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9565368959003614633&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001172&hvtargid=pla-560374853416&psc=1 These are scooters. I remember we would play with these in gym class back in elementry school and oh the fun it was. I would imagine that it would be ugly. You can always attatch these scooters to a bottom of a stand or just get wheels and attatch it your self. If your wanting to keep your aquarium on the cupboard get a peice of ply-wood and a peice of 2x4s. Screw the 2x4s to both ends of the stand and attatch the wheels to all four corners. Might be a little less uglier then the scooter idea because you can make it the exact size of your aquarium.
  5. I would wrap a sponge over the intake and see if that helps.
  6. This new picture resembles a female to me. The dorsal fin isn't so pointy as it looked like it was in the previous photo. I take @Brandy side they look like two females.
  7. I don't know the exact age, but a quick google search reveals 4-6 Months. I had a electric blue ram that showed it was a female at about 4ish months. Mine looked to be the same age as yours are.
  8. Based on the rounded shaped dorsal fin the top one looks like a female and the bottom looks to be male.
  9. Congrats on yoru first batch of fry! Do you have any updates!
  10. Those pictures are taking very well! I am awful at showcasing my fish through photos. Whats your trick?
  11. I'm in the midst of fixing my green water. I put a towel over the aquarium several days ago (and whats feels like an eternity because I loved siting on the couch and watching them all swim by) And I was FINALLY able to take the towel off. I can finally start seeing them again. The green algae has defentley gotten a lot better and I plan on going to the LFS soon to pick up floating plants to help pull the nutrients that the algae is consuming.
  12. Hey Courtnie! Excited to have you on this forum, welcome!
  13. corydoras aren't good algae eaters. They will scavange for left over food though. If your looking for a good algae eater I would do a few nirite snails.
  14. The finnex should be fine for your setup. As you mentioned most of your plants are low light so there shouldn't be much to worry about.
  15. agree with @Platosdog distract the neon tetras with floating food as you feed the shrimp the sinking food.
  16. haha, danios are all fun until you try to take a picture, welcome to the forum!
  17. I have been wanting to do a scape like that for a LONG time. Only problem is that I dont trust my artistic skills to attacth the moss to the tree.
  18. Awesome looking tank! And I love those swordtails!
  19. The rim is to support the pannels. Its still a bit of a gamble though, I would fill it up and wait for 24-48hrs and see if there is a leak.
  20. I would add the betta first so he can claim his territory. Are you sure you tank is cycled? have you tested for nitrates?
  21. wow, looking great fish folk
