  1. @Guppysnail Oh my goooooood, your tank is beautiful! So colourful. Im jealous. Valisneria is so filling its awesome. @FLFishChik How many pea puffers can you get into a 29g? @Fish Folk I love your setups! do you have any tips for removing stubborn tannins from wood? i have some pieces id love to use but i really am not looking for that blackwater look. Ive boiled them a bunch but nothing seems to do it LOL. Thanks for the responses guys!
  2. @Guppysnail I love the honey gouramis! They are super cool and I almost might prefer them over Betta fish for micro setups. I have one as my main show fish for a 10 gal planted 🙂 This is the current setup now. So I’d have to make a whole new stand for the 29 . Mind the bubbles in that picture 💀 . Fresh tank, but the sponge filters are well established!
  3. @Lennie I cant say im too familiar with red lizard whiptails! Also what is a river tank made up of? focused on single direction water flow? the idea of that is super intriguing! Thanks for the response 🙂
  4. I just upgraded my two fancy goldfish from a 29gallon to a 50 gallon . They are super happy with the new setup. Now though I have this gorgeous 29 gallon and no idea what I should do with it. I’ve watched Cory’s video on 29 gallon setup ideas but would LOVE to hear some ideas from the community. Maybe use it as a breeder tank for some baby Goldie’s? Shrimp colony? The options are limitless ! Gimme some ideas to bounce off of 🙂
  5. pH : 7.2 ammonia : between 0ppm - 0.25ppm nitrite : 0ppm nitrates : between 0- 5.0 ppm I was thinking maybe it was temperature shock as i had a little trouble regulating the temp this time. Everything seemed to go just as it always does though. Ty for the response! @Lennie
  6. Just just a large water change just like any other day and my goldfish are just sitting on the bottom not moving much and gasping. I noticed their tails have red veins appearing. I love these fish, i just did a water change and have no idea why this would disrupt anything. Any help is appreciated asap.
  7. Wow , thank you all for the replies! I hardly use my phone so I haven’t gotten to take a look on here in a day or two !
  8. @lefty o @jwcarlson So I have three sponge filters in there as media, will that be more than enough BB in the transfer than? Thank you again for the responses!
  9. I have a 29gallon tank with one Oranda and one Pearlscale oranda. I’m looking to upgrade them to a 40 gallon tank in the near future. The tank I have them in is well established and is sitting on the only real stand that can hold a tank of its size. So I’m trying to figure out how I could cycle a 40 gallon tank and put it in its place with the lack of room. I don’t really have anywhere to put the 40 gallon long enough to ensure it’s cycled properly. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I’m super open to anything! Thanks ahead of time !
  10. I know you have a large tank but if you get some large pothos vines and hang the roots in the water they are awesome! And the roots are super hardy!
  11. @Tanked sorry for the late response ! Thank you so much for your take! The idea of a fish fence for feeding duckweed is actually genius! Maybe I’ll start a window sill duckweed farm then 🙂
  12. @CrashBandit05 Do you think it’ll grow fast enough that I can feed it to them regularly? I should clarify the duckweed is growing in a separate tank .
  13. I had an idea to keep duckweed in this small 10 gallon tank primarily for the purpose of feeding it to my Goldie’s as I’ve heard it grows quickly . Anyone know if this is possible?
  14. Interesting. I bought a very similar pack of seeds and someone on here convinced me to toss them. Apparently sometimes they can be very pest like plants that are hard to get rid of . I think there’s a video somewhere talking about it
