  1. Are there any benifits to adding Vitamin C to an aquarium?. I got pondering because I've been reading that fish can get deficient in this Vitamin which can impact their immune system Given that Vitamin C is water soluble, its impossible to over dose a human with it as it's just naturally flushed from our system if our bodies dont need it. I thought fish may operate in a similar fashion. As far as Vitamin C ..a crushed tablet , dissolved in water and just added to the Aquarium at a water change. Sorry if it's been touched on before, this is me thinking out loud.
  2. I considered white cloud minnows, but..the water is too cold for peas.. I also considered Ottos they quick little guys. I dunno.. But the idea of playing wheres Waldo everytime I look in to find the little guys kinda intrigues me.. But I do have a 20 gallon back up. I'll have a plant quarantine tank where a rejected tank mate can hang out..or..if one pea is particularly hard to get along with. I guess I'm going to have to get up to speed on sustaining and propagating live foods ..best I ever did was baby brine shrimp. I can see me claiming more of the laundry room! Maybe a hostile take over.. May need back up...
  3. That's impressive..👍. Wow..I never thought a gourami would turn down a snack like that..
  4. What other fish do you have in your aquarium?
  5. After seeing the little guys at the pet store..I took a liking. So I've decided that my 35 is going to be a puffer tank. 3 may be 4 puffers. Tank mates, planted. I guess my question is Would a dutch style system or a conventional system be a better home for the puffers. Also being heavily planted..I'll require a better clean up crew. Puffers love snails it appears, do they enjoy a shrimp as well? Or can shrimp evade them. Otto' s should be able to evade them , nor would they wont harm the puffer..right? I guess I'm looking for feed back. Everyone's experience or things they have observed. Thank You everyone!
  6. 32 Bowfront Ornamental Glow fish Yes that is a real java fern. I suck at pictures.
  7. Yes...I had totally forgotten about it.. I battled that on my 75 cichlid tank..😢 Thank You!
  8. What is/are BBA? Big Bad Algae? Big Black Algae? Thank you.
  9. Yes.. I assume I should supply pics of this..
  10. Stray potential from the electrics, lights, pumps, power heads, filters. I dont know if grounding a tank frame is enough. Talk to an electrician. These tanks were manufactured when filtration was predominantly airstone driven. We didnt have all the electric gizmos we have today.
  11. Thank You. They are African Cichlid, Mbuna Species...except one, a Venustus cichlid was put in the bag by accident and I didnt catch it at the store and they do not accept returns on livestock. Thank You Petsmart. But the little guy is playing ball and not being to aggressive. That may change and I'll have to get him his own 75. They are generally vegetarian, but will consume anything that's offered. I know they will nibble and pluck at the plants. As long as the plants are not a tasty treat. Also ,I require plants that are rhizome organisms. I have zero substrate for plants. The plants have to be able to feed directly from the water column. Any plant suggestions would be appreciated.
  12. Nice. Just be careful..people get rid of them because they are tired of getting shocked when they touch them.
  13. Every faucet has a threaded diffuser installed. Either male or female. Which an adapter for a garden hose can be purchased. Yours must be pretty seized in. Time to upgrade the faucet I guess, 🤔
