Hello all Ryan from Nj. I am a light hobbyist currently running 18 tanks. Need help with the following.
After a two week trip with a family member watching my tanks I found the following…
I have a outbreak and can’t tell what it is! Went to 3 local fish stores not a chain store and got three different answers with a dead mdoka white lip. It’s a 75G tank which had 8 Placidochromas Phenochilus. Tank was running for 7 months with nothing changing or added, just routine main. Levels are 8.0ph, KH 179, No2 0, NH3 &4 0, Temp 78 deg. Had a spike in No3 to 40ppm did a 30% to 5ppm 4 days ago. In a 3 day span I’ve lost 5. I have pictures and Video of fish including magnified pictures. Looks like a parasite zoom in but also has tumor like spots almost reflecting an ick. Up the temp a little at a time to 84 deg, added api aquarium salt dosed as directed for 75 gallon tank.
I started 7 packets api general cure 48 hours ago and 1 treatment of seachem metroplex yesterday. Lost 3 more since treatment started and another looks worse. I also noticed a red spot between the fin and the Gill on all the dead fish on one side. I did 1 tablespoon of their food with one dose of metroplex and focus which started 48 hours ago, only giving a few pellets just to get the meds in them each day. I think I had a cross contamination when doing water changes because today in my main 75 gallon I’m noticing an iceberg Blueberry ob fryeri doing a shimmy and scratching occasionally on substrate like the white lips. Also looking a little indented in belly which the mdoka did not seem to have. I have to get a handle on this asap or loose a lot of stock!!
I thank anyone in advance for help!!
thank you
