  1. Does the Aquarium Coop test both NH3 and NH4? I understand the API master does both.
  2. I just got back into fishkeeping after 30 years, and other than duckweed I use to only have plastic plants. My question is I noticed some fin rot on several fish all test seemed to be good, the PH was low 5.8-6.0 and a little hard and I noticed the water temp was 84. It is a 55 that is heavily plant proudly with Aquarium-Coop plants. I turned the heater off and bought a new preset one and went to my local Mom & Pop store and they suggest I use Kanaplex. but take the plants out. I asked if the was a way to treat without taking plants out. was told to mix with food, focus and feed. I had to go to work so I figured I would do when I got home, and when I got home about half of my tank was dead and most of the dead fish completely were covered in white fungus mouth to tail. I freaked out and dose the KanaPlex directly into the tank, and moved all plants to 2 10 gallons, that I was cycling for my bettas community tank. Wednesday, tomorrow will be the 3rd and final dose, also I put some aquarium salt in the tank. Have only lost 1 more fish and my last von rio has a big patch of fungus under his eye. My plan is do a big water change Friday and another on Saturday and reentry my plants back to the tank. My questions, does anything need to be done to the plants before they go back in, 1 plant is attached to a big piece of drift wood. also any treatment need for the tanks I'm taking them out of. Any suggests for treating the tank after the plants go back in. Last question is there a medication that will not hurt the plants and I can treat a tank without removing the plants, just a like a general cover all monthly that I could put thru my tanks just like a vaccine even though there are not signs of disease. Thanks in advance.
