I love these stands for how easily customizable they are! Love what you did with yours! If it’s a 29/20G stand I have the dimensions for the wood I used!

That sounds awesome! I was leaning towards particle boards just bc they were black and could match the aesthetic better. I ended up getting these cuts of wood for free so couldn’t pass on it! Debating if I want to paint them black or stain them in the future 😁

Finished Product. I may decide on putting a stain at a later date, or even paint it! I’ve got a running theme of black metal with wood grain furniture throughout the house. Raw shelves w/o cube organizers. I got these pieces of wood for free from a local hardware store, they were an old shipment of 12” x 48” shelves that they wanted gone! Not the nicest pieces ever but since one of my cuts were already 12” it worked out perfectly! I decided to run two rip cuts for the top shelf for ease of installation. Here’s the stock Petco 20/29G Stand. The whole reason I originally got this particular stand was how easily customizable it seemed. A rare DIY success for me with these fish keeping builds!

Hey all! I got a handful of common Ramshorn snails from another hobbyist back in July. Since then I’ve been having more and more Red foot/ Red Shell Rams pop up and was wondering if they’ll lose their color over time? I’ve been hard culling out any that didn’t meet my coloration standard. Thank you in advance!

Long time no see Forum! Got into a few local FB groups so most my times been spent there. Got a couple new strains to add to my breeding setups including: Platinum Red-Tail Dumbo Guppies, & some Yellow Tuxedo Guppies that I’m really proud of! Each strain is currently been bred in some outdoor tubs here in Hawai’i! Hope to keep you guys updated! Here are some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken in the mean time!

Sounds like you need more pressure in your siphon. My fathers has had his common for years now and he uses a Powerhead connected to a Gravel Vac and that works a treat! Also Amazon has Electric Gravel Vacs but I’m not too sure how good those work to be fair!

I haven’t had a full year into the hobby yet but in my short journey I’ve come to appreciate my “fish tank” more so for the ecosystem aspect. When I first got into the hobby I was way too focused on the hardscape and stocking and completely ignored the world of plants. After taking in a bunch of information from Cory about what plants would work for me and how to properly care for them! I’ve had moderate success with Java Ferns and Anubias! After feeling comfortable enough to upgrade to a bigger canvas I really went all in on the planting! Definitely made me enjoy the hobby ten fold! Also Guppies FTW!

Hey there! I can see where your worry comes from but overall quarantining new plants isn’t all that necessary so you’re good to go! Also if you bought a dry bulb there is absolutely no chance of hitchhiker’s!

I’ve recently had a stint with Hydra hitchhiking on plants from another local hobbyist. Luckily enough they went into a Guppy tank and it cleared up in a couple days! Savage little guys haha!
