Hello everyone! I was wondering about how to build healthy bacteria in a newly established tank and the idea of soaking or using a sponge filter in a already heavily planted tank came to thought. If I were to soak it or use it in the planted tank for a week and put inside the newly established tank would that make the process faster in building beneficial bacteria?

That's good to know that I can still plant plants inside the tank. Was debating on whether or not to do so.

Hello everyone, I just recently set up a 40 gallon tank with fluval stratum substrate. I haven’t put any plants inside and have been using sponge filters for the past 2 days. it has been up for about 48 hours already. I woke up this morning to check all my tanks and noticed that the room smelled like fart and saw that my 40 gallon was a bit white and cloudy. I don’t understand why it is cloudy and smelly. Is there a way to resolve this or do I have to wait it out?

So I bred a few bettas, and many made it but there is 1 particular one that stands out from the rest. Any ideas if it’s gonna stay this color or will it change? It is about 3 months old now. I am also showing the parents

Hello everyone, I live in Washington and struggling with hatching my brine shrimps. In the winter and spring it was working just fine but since it’s summer and the temperature is now hotter than ever, my baby brine shrimp are now too hot. Does anyone have recommendations on what I can do? Right now I’m using a light with 60w and an air pump. Is the air pump supposed to be blowing lots of bubbles or just enough? thank you very much everyone.
