  1. As a professional air compressor service tech, I would advise against going that route. The main reason would be the very low pressure you would attempt to run your equipment at . You would have to regulate after the tank to almost nothing(probably multiple regulators In line). Most Piston air compressors are 100-125 psi units, secondly you’ll be collecting water In the tank)and that rusty air tank water would go to the lines and point of use (sponge filters) Now the tank Could be enamel lined on the inside And that’s expensive. So you’ll have to drain out the tank with some type of timed drain. Lastly Depending on the air compressor type (Idk what kind your looking at) the air could have a small percent of oil in it. Now could you use food grade oil yes but it’s expensive . I’m not saying it couldn’t be done but as I said I’m a professional in industrial air compressor repair and system design and I saved my self all the head ache and got one of these To run my fish room. Hope this helps . insteadhttps://www.aquariumcoop.com/products/linear-piston-air-pump?_pos=1&_sid=15669a4cc&_ss=r
  2. It happens often and Is also a matter of timing. For example I can tell when My angelfish are going to lay eggs by the breeding tubes and check daily. But I’ve seen a fat female, with her egg tube out then the next day the same fish skinny But no eggs. The obvious answer is they were eatin within my two inspections. If you aren’t keyed into this stuff you’d never even know it happened.
  3. If you feed live baby brine and you are attempting to breed fish your success with everything increases. Spawns, fry raising, growth rate. I’ve used different worm cultures and nothing is as easy as bbs. One worth mentioning is vinegar ells. But That’s really for super tiny fry like rainbows. @Cory has said it a million times in his videos bbs is magic and will change everything for you.
  4. @gcalberto normally if you’re seeing lots of fungus in the first 24-36 hours the eggs weren’t fertilized
  5. @Daniel yeah I’ve actually had success with a lot of species probably somewhere around 20. But never Apistogramma I’ve done rams but they spawn on rocks and not in caves.but I ’ll have to check out that other post . Thanks!
  6. Hello, just starting a journal about this spawn of my apisto agassizii fire red pair. I’ve only had them for 1 week and they are in a 3.5 gal cube while they quarantine. And I saw the female in the cave I put in. And I checked it with my light and sure enough there are eggs, I typically artificially hatch all my fish just due to the fact I’ve had more personal success doing it that way. So I pulled the eggs and put them in a clean tank with 50% water from a established tank and 50% new. Heater and an air stone in front of the cave to try and create some water movement. And I replaced the cave in the pairs tank. And I checked back later that day and I must have caught them mid-spawn because She laid more eggs in the new cave. So we will see if the ones I pulled are fertile. And I’ll post my progress and steps as I go. Ps to a admin I am having hard time with the pictures loading in sideways.
  7. Something like that with the added plants in the rocks
  8. Not a bad idea you might be able do a shell bed one side with multies . Do the rocks your talking about on the left and get some julies or leleupi live in the rocks and it will be a breeding for profit tank. My lfs is always buying all mentioned above fish
  9. Everything being said about the angelfish is spot on. That would make a cool shell dweller tank, there a nice change of pace from the planted tank and multies in particular have cool behavior to watch
  10. Here in my neck of the woods we have a chain called petvalu and they some times have orange lasers for 14.99. The one local to me will actually order them in for you
  11. My favorite is not super rare but only available I’ve found on aqua bid. And I had no success spawning them. that makes them more interesting to me in my mind. But it’s then orange laser corydoras. Actually saw cory spawn them in a video and I had to have them. I have not been so lucky this far.

  13. Hello, this is my first attempt at breeding a rare L number, and I’m trying to figure out many things. But I have a group of 4 fish and some seem to hide in the tank and others seem to always sit in the entry of the caves is that a behavior of a male fish attempting to trap a female? tank numbers 80-82F, 7.5 ph, tds 210 I feed extreme flakes, sera catfish chips, and frozen bloodworms/brine shrimp and some bbs
  14. My Val in my 72 bow front tank grows like crazy but the plants seem thin and translucent and just don’t look great over all I does 7 pumps of easy green weekly
