  1. Not that I know of, but I have been so bust that I haven't had a chance to look too closely, plus I don't really know what to look for. I will get back to you in about two hours after I have looked at it closely.
  2. Recently I saw that there is this translucent white...thing, growing on my dwarf grass. The best way I can describe it is it looks clear with tiny white dots. The weird thing about it though is when the thing itself or the blade of grass it is on is touched, it quickly shrinks up around the grass, then after being disturbed it returns to normal size within seconds. I haven't been able to grab it off the plant because if how small it shrinks, but overnight some of it grew between two blades, so I am going to try and grab it when I get a chance. My blue shrimp also seems to be on his death bed. He is on his side and lethargic, but still moving. I moved him to quarantine, but I have a gut feeling that him not doing well is caused by this thing. Nothing new has been introduced to the tank lately, so I have no idea where it could have come from. It has started getting on the wall and one of my little pest snails bumped into it, then turned away from it. I am going to do a water change asap and pull the dwarf grass out till then. If anyone knows what this is please let me know!
  3. I just got my test strips and both the nitrites and nitrates are high, but my tap water is low, so I am just going to do a water change.
  4. It has been just under a week now, but when I was adjusting my filter it felt a bit slimy so would that be biofilm? Also ally shrimp inhabitants died so would that be because of not enough food?
  5. Thanks for the thought! I got him in his old tank with the original water still in it and he seems to have perked up already, so I am going to keep him in there till I get the test strips. I never seemed to have any trouble with the tank even though it is smaller. I hope the shrimp didn't bring any parasites in with them.
  6. So I set up a new tank this week and got 4 shrimp a few days ago to put in when I introduce my betta. All but one have died. Today my betta's eyes are cloudy and his movements are twitchy. When setting up my tank the water was a mixture of tap, his tank water, some from the pet store, and most regretfully some water that came from my friend's tank when she gave me some propagations of her plants. (Not trying to throw her under the bus, but she just kinda put it in before I could say no.) I didn't let the tank cycle any before either. (Entirely my fault) I don't have any ph test strips at the moment, but they are on the way and I am getting my betta re acclimated to his old tank. What should I do to help him/can I or is he too far gone?!
  7. I should be getting a new plant from aquarium co-op soon so that should help.
  8. I just got this girl two days ago along with a yellow cherry shrimp and two Amano shrimp. There is only one original occupant left (amano). However the girl pictured was carrying eggs when she died tonight. I was able to get them off of her and are now in a thin mesh net floating above my bubble stone to keep them aerated and moving. There are one-two black spots on each egg so I believe they are fertilized(roughly 31 eggs). The problem is idk how to really care for them and the tank is new, so there is little algae. I have some plants and am going to get a new ground cover plant soon so the new shrimplets can hide. Is there a way I can quickly promote algae growth?
