Mystery snail eggs & inverts journal
Theplatymaster replied to Chick-In-Of-TheSea's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
my grandfather has a 10gallon mutt guppy tank, its been going for decades, he just changes water occasionally and feeds. when he started that tank, he got 10feeder guppies for $1, now guppies are like $6. that being said those guppies have NO market value as they are SUPER inbred, and if moved would probably crash, due to how acclimated they are to his water.- 1,893 replies

Theplatymaster's NEW journal: A treacherous 20.
Theplatymaster replied to Theplatymaster's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
musical fish has been platyed. all fish have been removed from my5gallon tank. (there were no fry 😞) and ive replaced them with 2dark orange platy females and a red/dark orange male, i want to breed out the male's traits, so im using similar looking females. (the females may be sisters) other then that the tank setup is the same as it was before, oh a picture (the male is already like "I have 2gals to myself, this is the best!" : still a mini ramshorn snail colony @Cinnebuns- 377 replies

Best process for moving fish from one home to another
Theplatymaster replied to Shadow's topic in General Discussion
@Shadow for the tank id get something like bubble wrap, and pack it tight in a box, dont let it move around. no. bacteria does not live in the water, this will not work. but i recomend, if you have one, use a sponge filter in there that is cycled, or throw in some established sponge or bio rings, something to get the bacteria going.- 16 replies

YES! non-existent fish CANNOT hurt the shrimp. the shrimp are in a 2.5gallon tank, with some snails, and other little creatures, there are not fish in the tank. wow, sorry. that really came out sounding too agressive.- 377 replies

yeah! 50wats in 1gallon, you really are going to fry those fish. of course they will advertise down, they want to sell more products.

Help! Do I medicate an empty tank or wait it out?
Theplatymaster replied to DrBroskeet's topic in Diseases
i think medicate the tank, the diseaes can last a while, and you want to kill them before they cause any more harm @Colu -
@Futured ive never used this light, but ill take a guess. these buttons appear to control some sort of timer this button changes the settings (i dont know on this light, but like moonlight and daylight): and this is the power button: if that doesnt help, just play around with it, learn for yourself what button does what, sometimes that can be better then a manual.

Theplatymaster's NEW journal: A treacherous 20.
Theplatymaster replied to Theplatymaster's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
this is a circle has one side, or no sides argument. it has like 30 intakes on it. my intake sponges on the normal intake have worked fine, ill see how the bottom one does. i have 3D printed a piece to work on this, it worked, but was rushed and had some MAJOR design flaws. first of all, a stupid measuring error, the tube was too long and hit the substrate. i also did not make the hole wide enough, so getting it on was a pain, and getting it off was a *********** the idea is it covers all the intakes, so the water is pulled through the bottom, which i put a prefilter sponge on. not a bad idea in my opinion, but a horrible design on my part. the hold in the side is for the power cord. so how do i lower it? also there were a few successful molts before the deaths started.- 377 replies

Testing Time: Fixing the Seachem Tidals Bypass
Theplatymaster replied to nabokovfan87's topic in Experiments
@nabokovfan87 here is the part of my basket i have modded: i have a 35model, and there is the area that sticks out here, that i have cut a hole into to get filtration from that too: i will probably have to expand the hole to prevent clogging, do you think i should cut off this part? sorry, i know this thread is about your modding, but this is definitely on topic. (im just consulting the expert on my choices).
