  1. Have pictures of the collar? In all my testing, the only thing that's slowed flow down has been a full sponge filter. What's the flow of air in the water? any chance the pump is failing? Can you blow through the air collar?
  2. I've been talking with Mike from Aquapros/Legit fish food about this food for a couple of years at least. In my opinion I think the food is very high quality. Mike has ensured that it's high quality for sure. My original response to him was that I thought it was expensive and would be hard sell for a lot of people. However over the last two years I've seen pricing increasing. Hikari Massivore got a price increase last month... to 29.99! We are planning to bring on Legit fish food, even though we are developing our own foods. I trust the testing I've been seeing him do with the foods, and I like that a portion goes to Project Piaba. I am a fan of the Nano and community pellets. I convinced him to make 1oz bags of them and they should be releasing in the next couple months. The bottom dweller pellets, I haven't seen my fish go nuts over, they'll eat it, but not swarm it. The food itself, if you can stick to the logic, is nutrient dense and should take much less food to get the fish fed, than other foods. I do think we'll see more people using it once Aquarium Co-Op Is selling it, it'll be easier for people to add on to their orders and try it. However I won't be going out of my way to promote it a ton. Not because it's not good, but because we'll be launching some of our own foods most likely this year and advertising a competitor to our own product isn't smart marketing dollars. However we sell other fish foods anyways and I believe Legit is a good food, from a good person and I want to support that.
  3. Should be a whole new format coming out for updates at the retail store 😉 working on it as we speak. More highlights from the store.
  4. Low 60s at least. The way they are stored in Peru at the wholesalers, they get pretty chilly.
  5. If they are showing no signs of illness. I would use paracleanse to clean out their internal worms.
  6. In General we don't invite active youtubers to be the members only talk. People can go and watch their current content. It's not that we don't think they're good, but we want to provide something that isn't already available easily to the members.
  7. Personally, I would add crushed coral to the substrate to help buffer it up.
  8. It's not my place to speak for her, but from the information I have she is doing ok and still doing great work for us.
  9. Yeah, acid buffer means it'll lower it. Adding some crushed coral to your system or a different additive at water changes should help some. I'd try to get it near 7.
  10. pH that low is gonna be rough on the val. Also the val prefers a bit more light, but will grow in that low light.
  11. Yeah I mentioned this in a video about prep once. They theory being aquariums used to be heated by candles. I think for smaller tanks it could work, the bigger you go, I bet the less feasible it is. I also think taking it below would have the heat rise. if someone ever finds the time, I’m willing to send heat packs if someone wants to log results.
  12. Yeah, this is a case of not comparing apples to apples. The linear air piston pump is super powerful. and $250. Vs a $40 air pump. Also I don't use any check valves and I have the shortest possible tube between the nipple and the sponge filter. These are all the factors that affect flow: Tank Depth Pump Strength Using a check valve Length of airline tubing Age of Pump Uplift tube length Some things most people wouldn't realize, an air pump say sitting on top of the glass or a shelf at tank height will be stronger with a shorter airline and no check valve. Also double stacking the sponge filter, to raise the nipple you attach the airline tube to, will increase the flow as there is less back pressure. Air will always be wattage vs sounds vs cost. You've gotta decide what you value. If cost is no concern, a linear air piston pump installed remotely in a closet, garage, attic etc will provide the most air, at the lowest sound, but at the most cost and work to get setup. Also flow isn't everything. With the heavy flow I have now, sponge filters are getting dirty much faster, I've been turning some of them down a little it. Also remember that an easy flow with the same air pump is still way more efficient than without an easy flow and just a short tube.
  13. I've been through 5 days of electricity out in the last few years. For me it was easy. Usb air pumps recharge in the car. You can also have any battery back ups. From $5 ones, to $1000 ones. I also own solar usb chargers that cost like $30, use them when I'm in peru. Set that outside during the day, recharge any battery bank or air pump. Have a laptop laying around? It charges an air pump from it's battery. Have someone in the neighborhood who has a generator? Charge your devices there. I know our neighborhood, invites others to charge, use hot water for showers etc. for $30, you can get this rechargable battery, with solar recharging and a built in light. It'll run your air pump for over 7 days plus plus the 18 on the air pump originally without even recharging it via sunlight. Heck I've even got flashlights and other household stuff that will charge other stuff through usb. https://www.amazon.com/Power-Bank-Solar-Charger-42800mAh-Portable-Built-Flashlight/dp/B0C4JTVBBH/ref=sr_1_4?crid=36VD7PL1EQJWZ&keywords=battery%2Bbank&qid=1703189628&sprefix=battery%2Bbank%2Caps%2C144&sr=8-4&th=1 I think as homeowners people should have some battery back up in their lives. Whether it's for camping, traveling at the airport, a long baseball game etc. As a pet owner, it makes even more sense. A system like a basic jackery portable power station for $220 will get most families through a power outage with tons of phone charging, air pump charging, recharging flashlights etc. You can charge it in the car or with solar panels while using it. You can use it to run a heated blanket, you can use it to run medical devices etc.
  14. I think battery air pumps and a BBQ with some propane to heat and mix water and pour into the aquarium will get most people through.
  15. Yep, the section just wasn't really sustainable. We were trying, but product descriptions, pictures, inventory all had their own challenges. For now we are saving them up and have some plans to try in the future. So while it doesn't help you today, we do have some ideas to try out 😉
  16. I personally have only ever done easy green with undergravel, not the root tabs. So I can't say if it would be beneficial or detrimental. My initial reaction is detrimental so I avoided it, but not based on proof.
  17. @PepereAwesome to see, I've got some ideas on what I'd like to see out of an undergravel filter. So many projects... only so much time. Maybe some day you won't have to diy your own adapters 😉
  18. Check the rubber drum looking parts for any tears. You can also try bending those arms outwards a bit. That'll increase the amount of "swing" which is how much air it pushes. But it may run a bit louder. Pretty hard to see whats going on from 1 picture and not in person. Also make sure it's not an airstone getting clogged that is making it run weaker.
  19. @AndyP I'm really excited for this product, most people have a great reaction to it. I fall in love with stuff, but not everyone has the same needs, but I think everyone sees more flow as better.
  20. Most of our product videos are unlisted. If we publish them some people complain that we are advertising too much. So they live on our product pages. @AndyP I see a few bubbles escaping behind the outflow tube. Is that coming from the sponge filter? Shouldn't be any bubbles escaping like that, just want to see if it's installed right or if something is going wrong etc. @TeeJay
  21. Here is the video on how to assemble, and modify in case people miss it on the product page.
  22. We've been working on it for about 8 days at this point. We haven't been able to replicate it on the developers side. My account also isn't having this problem. Reporting what device, browser and what steps you took to get to the problem will help us get it fixed eventually. @Herefishie
